I think the screen is underestimated. It's still very rare to find screens on laptops with such high quality, and with that very productive aspect ratio. From working with photos, documents, spreadsheets, it is way more versatile than its wider siblings which are better only in the movies department.

Too bad it doesn't swivel like a two in one, it would have been a killer laptop, but I guess price would become an issue like it is on the surface book.

1. Portability 2. Battery life 3. You know how if you went to coffee shops a couple of years ago and it was filled with people using macbooks? Well, now I see alot more people using surface products. So yeah, it's got the stylistic factor that people want to be seen with.

The best feature of the surface laptop is that I won't be buying one. This is kind of aimed at college students, but the lack of some kind of 360 screen makes using the pen difficult at best. There are time when writing notes and sketches are useful. It is a shame that MS missed the boat on this.

I'm eager to try Windows 10 S. The improved security is an obvious plus, but I'm more intrigued by the possibility that startup and resume times will be faster. I've been using a Acer Chromebook 14 for a little while now and I'm really enjoying how quickly I can get into the system and start working. If Windows 10 S has similar performance I would be willing to ditch my chromebook to try out whatever HP or Acer comes out with.

The primary reason why I might want a surface laptop is the fact that it is a first party product, supposedly the great speakers, and the build. However, the port situation is a deal breaker for me. USB alone is not enough and does not have the versitality of USBC to justify it's singularity.

The first reason for me getting a Surface Laptop would be the price. I was planning to sell my SP3 and buy a Surface Book, however I just could not bring myself, nor justify spending $3000 on a laptop/tablet. That's all changed with the SL, I can get the model I want (i5-8GB ram, 256 GB SSD) for about $1650 CDN, and keep the SP3 for tablet use, while saving close to $1500. Other reasons for me getting would include Surface brand quality, 3:2 screen ratio, 14 hr battery life, size and OS options.

This is the best device for my parents. They need basic WhatsApp, pdf, skype, edge , movie play. I can avoid really painful slowness of the pc because of virus and other bad stuff.

The system will be clean and really good in performance. If someone else want to use in future, just upgrade to Pro version and you are good to go.

The battery life be my first reason but just naming one reason is kinda unfair on the surface. The power it processes is incredible.

To finally have a fully compatible, working and high quality hardware as Apple has. Whenever I work on a Mac I feel so good about the quality. I can't see such thing on common Windows laptops

I will be buying one for my wife for work. It just sucks that all the pre orders are sold out of the color / configuration that I would like to get for her. I have the surface book p base, and love It, but she doesn't like the tablet for factor and really likes how light my daughter's MacBook air is, and when she saw the surface laptop at the microsoft store, she loved it.

The nice touchscreen and the long battery life are the best on a laptop like this and I would really like to see what is like to use W10S. If this is a success, it'll help attract more and more apps to the Store through Centennial at first. Because without those apps, people will never embrace UWP and it will be crucial for the success of the new mobile device. And once new apps come to the Store, they will be one big step closer to being adapted to Mobile. For example I don't have any hope for Chrome, but it'll be good to have Opera, especially with that integrated ad blocker for mobile

Feeling lucky:)

I need a new laptop mainly, not a 2-in-1. I'm going in because of the looks and cheaper price compared to the SB. To bad MS doesn't have a proper quad core processor -_-

Because it's hardly traditional even if it looks like it at first glance. You can do anything with it. I would be able to use it for work, art and digital sculpting.

As a tech enthusiast the surface team are my heroes. I love seeing quality tech and innovation. Traditional laptop? Psh.
