Blah, blah, heard all of this before. Pick any oem and the story will be the same. We have a LOT of Surface devices within this business... only ONE charger has ever failed. Maybe we're lucky. We have no idea how you treat your charger. They fail. They WILL fail. Sorry to be rude, but these things happen. If there WERE a widespread problem, the forums would be FULL of people screaming from the mountains. You had an issue, MS offered a solution and that's about it. Sure, it's naughty of them to send a refurb, but realistically 'if' there's an issue a refurb would normally (one would hope) fix any issues.
P.s. I'd have jumped onto eBay and bought a replacement from there instead. Have a look at any charger review on Amazon. Crazy. You have to be gentle with these damn things.
