No I had to use the updater via Nokia - I don't think the UK carriers have released it over the air yet.... To be honest it is a very minor update and overall not worth the worry or effort.
As mentioned above there has been a definite impact on battery life (on the negative side) with the update, so maybe stick with the current one!

You are mistaken, battery consumption improved with Portico 1308.xx and multiple users have reported on this, including me!
Have you installed the update of Nokia apps after updating the firmware?

I updated and the battery is draining so fast. Checked background tasks. Only a few are there. Also my wireless data is turned off since I do not have quota left for the month. Any suggestions? I have lumia 920.

For everyone wanting updates, I flashed my firmware to 1308.xx and picked the Israeli (local) firmware, instead of Vodafone DE one (bought phone in Germany).

So far here is what is different:
1- Phone no longer freezes when charging (I assumed because I wasn't using a Nokia charger, but it works fine now).
2- Skype and Whatsapp notifiactions work correctly even if app is closed (never worked before, ever, not even once for me).
3- Skype, Whatsapp, Location, WIFI are all on, battery discharge is 1.7%/hour without usage.
4- I now get H+ when using cellular network, it was only H previously. Most likely because I picked my proper local firmware this time instead of German one.
5- Photo boots faster, definitely.
6- Camera focuses a bit better when trying to focus on somewhat far objects, and videos seem to switch focus better (not stuck on something you don't want to be focused)
7- Auto Brightness seems the same to be, but I never had problems with it.
8- I got the new storage thingy, and I can now clean up the Other folder and see which apps take how much space.

Feel free to ask any questions.

For this update I'm most looking forward to the storage problem solving. I need more space for bigger games and more music...

So when will this update become available, without flashing with navi??

??? You have some nerve lol

I am letting you know of MY experience after the update - please don't tell me I am mistaken lol.
Battery drains at 8-9% per hour on stand by - tested over the day without using the phone - after the new update. Before the update it drained at ~1% per hour.
My phone was fully charged at 730am this morning and with no use at all has just hit 5% charge.

I have installed all the updates for Nokia apps and am using exactly the same apps as before.
Thanks.

How's the network in your area? Also, under settings - cellular/mobile network - what is the highest connection speed? 4G or 3G? Is your provider 3G? If yes, is it switched to 3G?

If I have the nerve? Yes, I have many nerves. LOL
However the battery of my device is not consuming as much as compared to your phone!

Maybe there are some apps running in the background that you did not check, you know, every user has different usage habits of others, and also the places where it uses the same may have varying signal (2G, 3G, 4G)
So, be comparing between phones battery is a waste of time!
LOL

Thank`s.

I was not comparing to other users (jeez).
No apps running in the background. I will mess around with a few settings and see whether it improves.

3G+ (4G is not in my area yet)
Highest network connection set to 4G.

Same settings as before.

Will updating it through nokia software updater void my warranty? And has anyone faced any problem after the update?

Good question - I am not sure but I have already done it <yikes>

Couple of problems for me (one just noticed) 'wifi live tile' app keeps switching to no wifi connected (when there is)
Battery life reduced to ~12 hrs stand by (from ~100hrs)
