Lumia 640 LTE - updated from 8.1 to W10M 10586.29 and a hard reset. Things running smooth. had 33 apps update just after the upgrade yesterday. and this morning it started to update a lot through windows-store as well.

MS is pushing updates like crazy and that's a great thing. What you guys are experiencing? wp_ss_20151211_0001.pngwp_ss_20151211_0002.png

Well, when you realize that hard resetting reverts many apps to an old version, it kinda loses its shine eh?

What I meant was I installed W10M and did a hard reset before first use. then it did a whole lot of updates yesterday, and today the motion data, glance screen and many other things updated revealing new settings.. MS is updating stuff quickly....

I've asked this question before but can't find the answer: what is a "hard reset?" How do I do it, and what are the consequences? Will it leave me in a position that I have to then individually download and setup all my apps, or can I then do a "restore?" Thanks for your help (again).

Hard reset wipes your phone and optionally your sd card so the phone starts fresh. After the hard reset, you must do the standard setup which will allow you to restore your data. How much data is completely based on various apps.

a hard reset is the step that reverts your device back to factory reset level. you will start with a fresh device at square ONE!. once you install windows 10 (on your wp 8.1 phone which has all your whatsapp & games all installed) go to settings -->about-->reset. remove your SD card before hand if you want to be safe.

once you done the factory reset, start setting up your phone and do not restore from a backup, since your backup was from wp 8.1 That should give you a glitch free experience with windows 10M
