WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Thought the other question would be do you brush your teeth before going to bed, or next morning??
:excited:

Lol! Well, you are supposed to brush at least twice a day so I feel like you have to.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

That's true about viewpoints.

If I remember correctly, what I know was taught by my parents and the dentist later on. My view is before actually, when it comes to the first meal. I remember being told that the enamel is exposed for a short period of time (~20ish minutes) so it's important to wait a little bit to eat after brushing. I can't remember if this applied to eating and then brushing or brushing and then eating, but yep.

The reason for brushing before eating (1st thing in the morning, that is) from what I recall is that things go on in your mouth while you are sleeping (which I was told from a dentist). When you let it stay and then eat, that isn't the best.
Ok I did some searching.

It appears that brushing before gets rid of the plaque build up from your sleep which prevents the plaque from using the sugars and acids from your food to grow.

A lot depends on what your have for breakfast as well.

You are also right that it's about 20 mins before eating so doing it right when you get to makes sense.

Surprisingly not all dentist recommend brushing before and most are just happy you're brushing. If it's after though they do recommend about 30 mins but preferably an hour.

Personally I'm one of those people that like the fresh breath thing. Also I find toothpaste spoils my taste buds.

So I'll stick to after for the moment. I may change.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Wow that does sound like it can be tough because I'm guessing that they don't share much similarities. (please correct me if I'm wrong.)
They both are Latin based, as is Spanish and Portuguese, but all languages evolve in their own way. Spanish and Portuguese have Arabic influences for example. I'm not sure what external influences French and Italian have.

So there are similarities and people who know one Latin language typically find it easier to pick up the others. Not necessarily the accents though.

There's an Italian guy here who speaks French but with an Italian accent. Sounds odd.

Ah, it being because of plaque makes sense. I couldn't remember that part, thank you. That's true about it depending on what you have for breakfast as well. With how I do things is that I always have space between because getting ready is a good way for the 20 minutes to pass every time lol.

I'm with you on the fresh breath.

I have seen some Spaniards speak very good French.
Beats me how they manage to do it.

I was taught to brush when you wake up and brush before you go to bed.
I see a lot of people at work who go and brush their teeth after they eat.
This is especially true in Costa Rica where they pretty much brush after every meal.

And yes, toothpaste messes up the taste of the food.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

French and Spanish are a lot closer than people give them credit for linguistically...
They might be Romance languages but I don't find any similarities between them. Italian is much closer in my humblest of Cuban opinions.

Italian is the closest to original Latin.

All Romance languages share similarities to some degree. Italian and French are the closest to one another. This is why they can pick up each others language easily.

Something to think about. French and English share a lot of words with each other. This is due to the Norman invasion of England. About 45% of English words derive from French. The words are just spoken or spelled slightly different.

This hasn't helped me much....

Another thing about language which I found amusing.

If you're at all grammar mad you'll be slightly disappointed if you go to visit the UK. I never ran into so much poor grammar and spelling (yes I know the USA can be bad) but in the UK it's somewhat universal. I'm still trying to rid myself of some of it.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I have to say the French are pretty hardy. The weather isn't that great, it's a bit sunny and the wind is gusty and cold but they like to sit outside when they can.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

There are times I miss when how phone friendly T-Mobile is for unlocked phones that aren't iPhones.

I just learned that by going with the S10e, I will have to give up all of the carrier features (the biggest one being VoLTE/HD Voice). Stupid. If I really like the S10e, I think I'll check out plans and compare.

I hear ya.
So far I haven't found a really big compelling reason to move away from TMO.

Yeah, I can really believe this for sure. The unlocked S7 edge that I bought for my sister when she switched to TMO a few years back has everything working. She doesn't use WiFi calling but all of the things are there and it works without a hitch. I never hear her complain about the pricing, coverage or phone calls not sounding good.

And her and her husband are on the TMO Tuesdays train. I should ask her if they use the Netflix thing but she doesn't usually have time to watch things.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So it's decided...the 10 is in the shop getting converted from glacial silver to camellia red. It will get a new screen and battery to go with the new housing.

My repair of many years cracks me up:

Repair Guy: So, here's the estimate for the repairs. You sure you want to do this?
MIA: Yup.
Repair Guy: I dunno. This is a 2016 phone. What about the OG Pixel?
MIA: Yes, and it's the last HTC model the way I like it (aluminum). No to the Pixel, been there, done that with the Pixel 2.
Repair Guy: hey! This is great in hand feel! Reminds me of a bar of soap! (continues to do the in hand feel test).
MIA (smiles): THAT's why I want you to fix it.

Yup, that in a nutshell summarizes current HTC. Still good work, but cast aside due to their own decision making fails.
