Update on my coworkers computer.

Hard drive is dead.

He needs a complete new install.

To give an idea of how bad the IT is here, he needs to inform them what programs he needs.

Let me put this into perspective...

In all the years I've worked in an office I've NEVER had to do this.

Usually the IT Dept has some idea what's required.

I'm just stunned really.

Reminds me of my previous company. I was in charge of IT support for our plantation site site office... We were still using ancient Windows XP & Vista machines.

What's driving me crazy right now is that my coworker is just doing a list of software. He's been on my computer for more than 30 mins...

I thought it was going to be quick. Never is it seems.

I must say I really like the screen on the V35. I will often drift away to others and whenever I come back to it, I always go "it's a really nice screen."

Yes I agree. Biggest issue appears to be their processing and not so much the lens.

I wonder why they didn't put the 48Mp on the Xperia 1.

I'll be curious to see what updates bring and this new Xperia 2. My wife is a bit interested but I don't see her getting it as it will probably be too big. It's a centimeter shorter than the Xperia 1. But she may surprise me.

Would be good if they release it quickly after the announcement.

Not so much.

France is a pretty diverse country for it's size in the climate and so on. So in the south of France you have a bit slower lifestyle. In the bigger cities life is faster paced. In Paris you're about London/NY level.

Things are generally more relaxed in France I find though. Not so much a Spanish 'manyana' attitude but not so much the uptight UK one I got used to either.

It's only been about 5 years since I was last on Xp.

Old machines are typical of the industry. They try to beef them up with RAM but they're typically way below what we require.

No idea what the upgrade cycle of this place is but I'm assuming we're near end of life for these ones... I hope.

So some good news regarding work here. Nothing to do with my coworkers computer.

My contact has been extended another year. So that's good.

Means we can settle in a bit more. Probably going to get a second car now.

Yes our farm is still going ahead as that's the reason we're here. The more money the better.
