WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I've always liked the idea of having a close friend from the opposite gender. When do right, it's very healthy. My work wife fits that bill for me.

The problem is that it takes a certain level of maturity to handle that. Some people want friends with a sexual component to their setup but don't want for ask for that. Some people just want simple friends but because people are so used to the underhanded way of getting friends with a sexual component are very wary of it.

When people just cannot be grown up enough to ask for what they want and deal with the consequences of their request...
I agree with you. I've had a close male friend for almost 30 years. He is like a brother to me. We have talked and gone to concerts, movies and coffeehouses on a regular basis and even given each other advice on each others' relationships. We've never been interested in dating each other, but our friendship has remained very close all these years.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Basically its because we moved house, and we're staying temporarily with my inlaws. They subscribed to different satellite TV packages which I'm not keen on watching.

I love watching football & movies, I can get my fix of English football & HBO thru streaming services on the laptop.... not ideal, but do-able. Other family members started to watch more stuff on their laptops/surface. So we finally decided to ditch the TV subscription.

If we we need to see something on a big screen, the HDMI or the MSFT wireless display adaptor are options. but its a hassle to set up so I havent tried it lately.
I got bored of cable TV 16 years ago and cancelled my subscription. If I want to watch shows or movies, I stream them on Netflix or borrow the DVD or BluRay from the public library. I haven't missed cable TV at all.

Had a tumble, stings a little but doesn't hurt that bad. Looks more like a viscious cat had a go at my arm!!
Oh, the tempered glass on my Nokia8.1 has cracked around the big notch!!

Bummer! That really sucks, since both you and your phone sustained injuries. I hope you'll heal quickly and a new screen protector will be attainable at a low cost.

Hey Laura. Is there someone to point out that whenever gallery images are put up they don't appear in the browser? Also the emojis don't either.

It's a bit frustrating considering we're in 2019 now and shouldn't have these issues.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Ok, because I know you're interested.

Update on IT issues at work.

My coworkers computer is still out of commission. Not only that, they went and put English software on when French was requested. To make it even sillier, when this was pointed out to them they asked to submit another request to change it to French.

Don't know who got this IT company in but they are useless. I've never been without a computer for more than two days....

Now, to show how really silly all this is.

We have a new guy starting. A CAD machine was ordered for him. To show how incompetent this IT company is the CAD machine is the bare minimum spec required and a single monitor. I don't remember the last time I had one monitor using CAD and an ONBOARD video card!

I'm completely baffled. It's quite obvious that they are completely clueless when it comes to anything outside of a standard PC.

I still have issues with my machine. They're not going anywhere near it....

Huh!!
I don't use CAD, but I'm a Excel guy and I so used to using a second monitor with my laptop at work. Plus a mouse and full keyboard.... Force of habit, I suppose

Give that IT department a raise!

Nicely said. That close friend you mention becomes more important as you get older. At 74, I'm learning the hard way.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So work IT update.

My coworker finally got his computer back but they've upgraded it to the latest specification, which is always nice. They managed to save his files too so he's happy.

We also got the guy to take a look at the other computer for the new guy and confirmed that it's not a CAD computer. It's typically one for admin assistants.

So some how the wrong one got ordered. That's being fixed now.

Don't know why that other person said it was a CAD machine. Obviously didn't know the difference...

It sounds like you and him are soulmates in the friendship sense. Many props to having a friend like this and maintaining the friendship for so long.

Wow. Glad that you are getting your computer back (no more borrowing, I mean) and that he is good to go. What an ordeal

They gave a laptop to use for the last little while but he couldn't do his usual work. He used my computer after I left for the day. I typically come in earlier than most people.

I'm glad I have a few. I'm hopefully I can maintain those friendships until I get to be as young as you.

Day two on the beach, including one monochrome. Pretty pleased with the camera. IMG_20190710_115138.jpegIMG_20190710_125100.jpegIMG_20190710_125106.jpegIMG_20190710_125245.jpeg
