There's a lot of idiots it there.Amidst of the increasing COVID-19 cases here in NYC, the MTA is pushing announcements for good hygiene on its subway platforms. I was listening to a town hall meeting at work (I work in a hospital, after all) and my head was dizzy from the spin coming from leadership).
Of course, you have the typical jackasses still openly sneezing and coughing on the trains. Sometimes you just want to slap the living heaven, earth and hell of out people.
Here at my work people are not taking things too seriously but we have had communication that anyone sick needs to stay home. Forced by management of necessary. Though not sure if management will be that forceful.
Also no more greeting people with kisses and handshakes. Yes both a thing here each morning.
There's still lots we don't know. This virus typically kills those who have health related issues, mostly older and those with respiratory issues, but it has also killed perfectly healthy young people
Lots of people here are doing the shoulder shrug and I set lots online treating like a flu when it's not.
However there's the other side of this. Those who panic. Hasn't quite gone off here but other counties have cleared out shelves of food and toilet paper (it's always toilet paper)
We decided to stock up a touch. I'm not scared about getting it. It's more to do with supply chain issues if people start to be forced quarantined.
Also my wife has mild asthma so she's a touch more concerned. So I'm doing my best to stay healthy and so is she.
We're going to keep living our lives but we can't control others. Closures and lack of supplies have to be considered.
I do hope this doesn't get more serious here but anything is possible. Also hope that it's only one ever than two... Though that's not typical. Looking towards the warmer weather and the end of this. Fingers crossed.
Vaccine too!
