I didn't get the Corona-itch as bad as MIA but I desperately needed to move away from iOS before I suffered a device-smashing meltdown. Don't get me wrong, it's a fine OS if you're into social media and media consumption in general but the lack of a proper file management system usually leads to my frequent Apple hiatus. As I was searching my memory bank on recent devices that probably merit a second look and thinking about what could be, it all comes back to the fact that I simply can't handle 19:9 or similar aspect ratios. I was happiest with the LG Intuition and BlackBerry Passport for crying out loud! I know those wide-screen wonders of yore are no longer viable so I'll have to make do with a more recent 16:9 kit. My thumbs are too long and too thick for narrow keyboards, hard as I may try to make them work. Rheumatoid arthritis also plays a role but that's another matter. I miss my Xperia XA2 Ultra but that camera is just God-awful in point-and-shoot mode and T-Mobile doesn't play nice with it for some reason. I'm thinking XZ Premium if I can get one at a reasonable price. It's not right that a 2017 device still commands over $200. We'll see. I gotta go and get some Cortizone for this itch.

Yeah, I don't get that pricing with Sony at all. I hope that you find one for a reasonable price.

Y'all are both silly. I learned that I possibly qualify for something that I didn't know of until today and it changes quite a bit for this. No family help necessary.
Look at you with your masters program cap and gown on, trying slap us around with some mensa level sarcasm...

No offense to those who live in one-horse towns but nothing beats living in a Miami, NYC, LA or Chi-raq. You will find a good deal somewhere, somehow. You wave some Grants and Franklins in some fool's face and their knees buckle like an Allen Iverson crossover.

Got a pristine XZP for a lot less than I was looking to spend. Setup is underway and first impressions coming soon. I'm too busy playing with the Pixel Slate right now. From initial observations it looks like this Apple hiatus may be quite extended.

Already hit with a major surprise of the good kind. While setting up the Versa 2 I had bluetooth searching and it found a Bamboo Fineline 3 stylus for iPads that I had nearby. The curiosity obviously got the better of me and I allowed the pairing to happen and what do you know - it works! I now have a fully functional stylus for the Sony. Who needs a Galaxy Note anyway right? It had never occurred to me to try this on anything other than an iOS device so I don't know if this works for other Androids.

The other feature that stands out so far is the display - it's gorgeous for a LCD.

Miami, LA, NYC and Chi-town: the 4 horsemen of 'Murican hustle.

It's a gorgeous device for sure. I suppose if I wanted to hustle one up, I'd still get an XZ2 P.

So one of my coworkers had his second child within the past two hours (of course it was the wife who did all the heavy duty work there). Good for him...they've take on the task of raising two brown boys (she's Hispanic, he's black) in these times. Salute indeed.

Congrats to your coworker. Maybe it's a cultural thing but a Hispanic/Black relationship is no big deal to us Cubes, never has been. I'm sure it's even less in Puerto Rico. Mulattoes are about as common to us as Starbucks in Seattle.

For the record, is it still ok to use the term "mulatto"? It's what I grew up with but I don't want to offend anybody. I missed the memo on "African American" and was using "negroes" up until a few years ago. Of course in Spanish, both terms are still widely used so it spills over for me.

Some people still use that term. For me personally, the kids are mixed...or in the eyes of 'Muricans - black. You know anything with even the slightest hint of black involved in 'Murica gets labeled black faster than a bounced check. The wife is Ecuadorian.

Black or African American is still OK. I use either or for folks born here. If you aren't, I just say black or where you're from. These terms can be hard to keep track at times. Negroes is not one I personally use...or is n****s.

Ooh congrats on both!

Thank you, I hope to. I would think I should be able to for sure. I refuse to spend so much money on something that I feel like I'm making a big compromise on.
