The stock market is getting crushed completely. It is a complete meltdown out there.

MIA's uncle Donny John has ignited his own Three Mile Island. I've only watched clips of his ramble from last night and I can see how investors are just brimming with confidence. I don't know where to begin with this schmuck. Not the porn star payoffs, not the Mueller Report, certainly not the impeachment - a virus might be what actually rids us of this nightmare. Who'd a thunk it, all we needed was a can of Lysol - or Raid.

C'mon down! We got plenty of ex-New Yorkers here, what's another couple? All kidding aside, I can't imagine what it's going to be like for Gotham in the coming weeks - and I've been through plenty of hurricanes.
My dad would love nothing more than my sister and myself to come on down to Coral Springs.

It is THAT hurricane experience and my professional training that will keep me calm during this. I have to make sure I check in on some of the homebound pts I have.

He got handed a layup with COVID-19...all he had to do was to be coherent and show the slightest effective managerial skills and he would have a super strong case for November.

Instead we have...THIS .

So the job is looking at remote access. So how do I work from home without a working work phone?

I feel there there are so many places, including 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, that's using this kind of logic...

I will go get another 15 ounce to put in the fridge though.

Talk about punting on 1st and goal from the one yard line.

Went in ol' Whole Paycheck for a few other things. I started having hurricane flashbacks with how clean and disinfectant ready some of the shelves were. On the flip side, if you wanted high end cuts of meats that was there in abundance...

"It's hard to explain watching the decrease in volume of people in the places I walk through."

To help put a bit of this into perspective...

I ride the busiest line in the MTA to work, which runs through lower Manhattan - in particular, by Wall Street. The sheer reduction in the number of people at one of the busiest transfer points in the system in that area has been stark. Even the number of people who get off at the Wall Street stop I go through has been significantly slashed.

This line I ride also goes through quite a few of the heavy transfer points in the system in Manhattan. Traffic is down by at least half.

It's a hell of a thing. And it gives images of empty spaces where one is accustomed to seeing large crowds of people so stark.

is real.
Here's the confirmation:

I'd go in too with no one around.
Well that got squashed quickly. Can go in only on a as needed (very minimal) basis. So I brought my spare docking station, two monitors, keyboard and mouse home. Going to set it up just like work in the home office room.

Smart move. I'm sure that LA traffic may be a bit less hellish than usual.

Luckily I work in town so no LA traffic as far as commute is concerned. Takes between 12-15 minutes each way on surface streets.

Today it took a bit longer because it's been raining non stop.

We don't have Whole Paycheck here (I know which store you speak of) but our local grocery store is starting to show similar attributes and we're starting to follow trends in other countries... TP is disappearing from the shelves along with pasta.

We have stores similar to Whole Paycheck (though a lot smaller) where we will be able to buy stuff if necessary at a bit higher price, if they stay open....

That's the issue of course. So many people are concerned about being without.

Going by what I heard yesterday.

The numbers tested and confirmed, even in countries where the testing is rigorous, is most likely showing only a fraction of the people infected.

There is, with little doubt, thousands of people infected in the USA. The Bull-s*itter in chief has done a really crap job and his latest nonsense of stopping flights in from certain countries is just a ploy to look like he's doing something. It's far too late for stopping travel.

Good luck over there!

With stuff like this happening, we need more than luck...
