To be honest there's a lot of people here not taking things too seriously.

Everyday I see people still doing things they shouldn't be doing in this situation.

I see sick people on public transport. People still shaking hands. Etc. It's a lot of younger people too.

I noticed today in the bus an older lady was taking care not to be near anyone and not use the hand rails. However the younger people didn't seem to care.

Also there's already lots of moaning about this and people complaining about what the president has said.

Keep in mind. This isn't the USA. France will compensate people and help them. It's from what I understand, a French attitude though.

The current adminstration in the USA is garbage. They only care about two things. One is image. Second is money.

Hopefully this starts to change people's perception but I don't it...
Garbage would like to have a word with you about trashing its name by lumping it in the same sentence as this current administration.

A sign on a local nail salon (some of which are are typically owned by Asians and some of the workers typically Hispanic). Some may look at it as a nail salon. I look at it as a service business losing income, workers out of a job. Where is their relief? These are the people who should get answers first, not the larger conglomerates.

I'm not wildly against big business. Everything has its place. What I'm against is the wholesale concentration of most of the planet's wealth in the hands of a small (non brown) few. Because when crises happens, it highlights how disposable the poor, elderly, sick and the brown are.20200313_082808.jpeg

There's Asian restaurants going out of business here and I'm sure other businesses will follow.

You know what sucks?

Having a food allergy that makes you inflamed and gives you a scratchy throat that makes you cough and generally feel miserable.

No I don't have the virus.

I have an allergy to soy, mainly soy protein and flour.

I've had a bit of an overload of soy lately so I'm suffering with that. I'm pretty sure I had something yesterday that really triggered it.

So I feel miserable but no virus and I'm trying really hard not to cough.

Along with the throat and general inflammation that affects my whole body, my eyes get real heavy and my gull bladder gets inflamed and hurts. It's a bit mild this time but I've had it a lot worse.

Yes I've had tests for this.

So starting next week I'll be working from home possibly three days a week. They only want a third of people in the office at one time.

So this will be interesting...

The number of cases in Malaysia spiked cos a huge religious gathering went ahead despite knowing the consequence and advisory from the Heath Ministy. The stupidity and arrogance for this to happen is beyond words.

Well that got squashed quickly. Can go in only on a as needed (very minimal) basis. So I brought my spare docking station, two monitors, keyboard and mouse home. Going to set it up just like work in the home office room.
And in typical fashion, we are in limbo as to whether or not we will be working from home. I'm not going to hammer them too much...yet.

And in routine bureaucracy news: still no update on the replacement work phone. If I don't hear anything by the end of the day, I'm going to do me and go with a two device solution. Just too many reminders of how disposable my position is.

Meanwhile Liverpool may or may not be crowned this season's champions. The league has been suspended until April. Some want the entire season to be rendered null and void. That's crazy. Imagine sitting on the top of the league from the 1st game to the 29th, with an massive point gap advantage only to be told, its doesn't count. Surreal.
I absolutely agree with the suspension. A person's health or life should never be jeopardised for going to watch a sporting event.

Yup, it's official. I can work from home.

In my specific situation, "forward calls to your desk phone."

Yup, I'm done.
