The country was founded on this mentality nearly 300 years ago. To expect it to disappear without the work needed to replace it with something better is asinine...
In lot of ways, when you have the means in life to do much, suddenly you are faced with the obstacle of having that "much done" done for you, or just sitting there without a clue how to use it.
This has nothing to do with the matter but I was surprised at how much landscapers charge to remove Saguaro. Right at about 800 dollars to remove the entire thing. In the end I ended up saving myself just over 1500 by doing it myself, and I was fortunate to have some help with a truck to dump it all. I almost caved and allowed it to be cleaned up for me at a convenience cost. I am also fortunate enough that I like doing that kind of stuff and am capable. Most people would hate to do something like that. Now I am hoping my neighbors 2 saguaros fall over in a year or two, in hopes I can undercut the competition one day...
and I would gladly help them because they are elderly.
The other thing I have been seeing lately is folks getting taken advantage of. By either hoax spam callers or computer fraud. I mean I have seen it for decades being in IT and witnessing it all through my career, but even more so in the past 12 months because it people I know personally experiencing it.
