I just thought that design aside, I liked what was on offer with the V50. It was a solid apex of features. The V60 looks really good and polarizing. The white color looks awesome. It's a big phone, that's for sure. LG is going even more mainstream. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I'm hopeful that it works, as they've been keeping up the the joneses specs wise and that didn't work.
I think with that and the new direction of the G9, maybe that will help. The issues I've had with them are that they took too long to refine their lineup and that there software support hasn't been great.
I don't think I'll get the V60. Not so much because of the size. It's more of I liked the combination of the where the old V series got to. I like the package offered by the V50 more.
What I didn't like - and LG still hasn't fix this - is the distribution and marketing. For example, the V50 wasn't a widely available device. Neither is the V60. In fact it doesn't appear that LG made an unlocked NAM (not American variant for the V60. The last NAM model was the G8, with the V40 the last V-series model. Then there was G6 situation where they split up the features regionally.
I just think they did a lot of good. They also shot themselves in the foot. I'm not sure that they will move more V60s this year. It doesn't make it a bad product, it just means we will have to see how well accepted this new strategy becomes.
