What’s up gang! so after years and years of being attached to my Windows PCs for my music production needs, I’ve finally got an alternative. After Drambo released a few weeks ago, I decided that I “Needed” a new iPad; so, on a budget, I went out and found a like new iPad Pro 11. Didn’t take long to wrap my head around the new USB-C port and all of the connectivity options that it has made available.

I now have a completely portable, and amazingly functional iOS based music production studio! Cable management has never been my thing, so I made this diagram in Pixelmator showing how everything is connected. The USB-C hub is what brings everything together and it still amazes me how well everything works. With all of the new features of the latest iPadOS, like using external USB hard drives, thumb drives, (and finally with a file system that works!) and mouse/KB support, working within the iOS/iPadOS ecosystem is wonderful!

Then, when I “need” to re-dock myself back into my Windows desktop environment (where Ableton Live 10 Suite lives), all I have to do is unplug my audio interface (the Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 3rd gen) from the USB-C hub, and plug it back into my PC.

I’m not sure if you’re replying to me since I wasn’t quoted, but I’m not sure. Understand, I don’t waste time picking words, since actions speak far louder than words. I’ve never been politically correct, because I have nothing to be correct about. What you’re saying is what I agree with, I just come from a different angle that I feel is far more effective for me to effect change for those around me. There’s more than one way to skin a gator.....
You're LEGALLY entitled to your opinion. If keeping this on an individual works for you, go ahead. Drew Brees was legally entitled to his opinion. Sen. Tom Cotton is legally entitled to his opinion. At least one of the three of you tried to eat their slice of humble pie with a side of "stop talking out of your privilege" like a champ. I'll let the lurkers decide which of the three that was.

I have no problem calling that approach safe, shortsighted, and somewhat tone deaf in the same way Brees was, and Sen. Cotton is. I say that because for you, you're coming off as using a simple individualistic approach to a complex problem that is simultaneously operating on an individual (micro), communal (meso) and societal (macro) level. It's like using a hammer to secure a nail, tighten a socket or reattach a severed finger.

Is there validity in your approach? Sure, if you encounter people who are respectful and receptive. But when a cowboy cop feeling his oats has you face down on the hood of your car as he's pulling rank, he doesn't give two about your approach. Or the bank you go to for a loan who wants to do a cavity search for you and wife in the middle of the local branch in addition to every financial record for everyone in your entire family and you still get denied...when a Laura/Rue with worse credit than you simply has to fill out the standard form and submit the minimum necessary information to get approved.

In those situations, neither the bank nor the cop gives two about your approach. In those situations it isn't just the individual interactions at work there. It is pressure on the communal level (reprimanding the cop) and societal level (reprimanding the bank) that cop and that bank will listen to. That is what your American culture demands - power challenges power.

And for the record, I had a more searing post written on my phone...i decided to post this from my tablet instead. Based on the responses you've posted, this too will fall likely by the wayside. If the civil rights leaders you listed recently took a similarly safe approach as yours, you wouldn't have the legal opportunity to state your opinion...nor would I have the legal freedom to challenge it. At least MLK could have died by natural causes if he played it safe like you're suggesting, right?

If the city is on curfew (8PM-5AM), wthy the F is the ice cream truck out? Since when the hood ice cream truck with that ice cream designed to give you the runs was deemed as essential?

And no, it's not playing the OG ice cream truck song, which has it's own racial charged history.

Anyways, let me talk some tech and put Rue to sleep since he's holding out on my #boozepicture. I'm looking forward to B&H opening up again. Because Sony has taken eons to launch the Mark II, I am hoping to see it in person.

A teacher I had years ago told me I could run a lot faster without crutches and carrying my cross.

So yesterday I decided to reinstall my Xperia software again.

My Bluetooth, GPS and wifi have been acting weird (though I think the wifi is likely to due to the router).

I haven't tried out the GPS yet but the wifi is still annoying.

However, some good things.

The phone feels a lot quicker. I decided to keep my install of apps to bare minimum and I moved all my photos off. So starting fresh.

Second, my fingerprint scanner is working significantly better. I cleaned the sensor and my finger with a alcohol wipe before doing the setup and it basically works 95% of the time now and is quick. Though works best when the lockscreen is active. This is a significant improvement.

Bluetooth appears fixed.

Overall it was worth it. Still need to figure out the wifi though.

Reason I think it's the router is because my wife has similar issues.

#boozepicture is unlikely.

I just talked tech...

It's Friday. I'm tired.

Weather isn't helping my mood much.

For anyone interested it's International Doughnut Day.

There's nothing phone wise that's coming out this year I'm excited to see.

I'm curious about about Xperia 5 Mark 2. I'm curious to see what Asus does with the ROG 3. Other than that, ain't nothing moves my boat.

Today has been a cloudy type cluster****. I don't know how to explain it other than that. I'm slowly grinding through the work day but am hearing and dealing with all sorts of nonsense. It's supposed to thunderstorm today as well.

Might go out and get a plain cheese pie. If I could do booze and pizza while working I would, but I need to keep focused.
