Leaning towards getting a beat up 10 to restore. We'll see what happens there though...

A weird suggestion. Why not use your Lumia 950XL for audio services? I have been primarily using the Idol 4s for the headphone jack.

For audio, the Idol would be better as that amp has the impedence to drive good headphones and the better chipset for battery life.

The 950XL's battery is too trash and the amp isn't powerful enough for my commute. The only two WP models that could fit the bill are the Idol 4S and the HTC Windows M8.

The reason why I loved the M8, and especially the V20 was that I didn't need to use ANC to filter out outside noise (subway train) or to crank the volume up just to hear the music. With the V20, I'd set it so much lower and it'd drove the headphones nicely.

I'm thinking the rose gold housing and the black screen front - which is why I don't mind using a silver phone as a base. I think I liked the 10 in silver and red for the colors they used that year, with the gold a distant third.

That silver 10 with a nice silver smartwatch (Q explorist, Huawei watch OG, etc) or that red 10 with a gold/rose gold watch and a red leather band looks really good too.

Just to give an idea of the type of weather I've been putting up with since November. We've had, possibly, 40 days of no rain in all that time. Fields are flooded, towns are flooded, crops damaged. Water table and rivers are very high.

It's insane the amount of rain we've had. It's the wettest year on record. I picked a good year to move to France...

The days early in the week looked like this as well.

Man, here in the tropics we only expect forecast for high temperatures with possibility of higher temperature !! The humidity sucks the life out of me. A bit of light rain showers is always welcome.
That's what we had for past week. Then last night the heavens open up, roads turn to rushing rivers, flash floods. The drainage couldn't cope...

ZX2 Compact early impressions :
-So much screen!
-Feels better than the 7 in my hand.
-Also so fast too. I missed having an Android phone with good performance.
-I feel like I see an improvement in the photo processing but I need to test in regular light.
-Fingerprint scanner is good.

What changed my viewpoint is that it seems to be comparable to the iPhone 7 I have in low light but sometimes the color appears to be more accurate.

I know what you mean. I typically only use about 45% volume on the V20 in very noisy environments, such as the loud vacuum cleaner.

Thanks for sharing this pounding rainy weather with us here in NYC. It's a fun commute so far this morning.

As a child of the water, it doesn't bother me much - even left the raincoat at home as being overheated is more of a pain to deal with than being wet in clothes that dry pretty quickly.

I'm a child of weather, so...

But seriously, I wasn't gonna were my water resistant light jacket for 70s weather that had a T-storm or two.

Back home we just umbrella'd it and got things done.

Don't thank me yet...it depends on how much it costs to restore it. I'm ended up with too many collector's pieces and not enough ones I can sell. SMH.

I'll post the restoration pictures. It looked beat up as hell so the following needs to be done: replace LCD and housing. My guess the fingerprint scanner too, but I'm hopeful that everything else works fine enough.
