WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Long Monday. ****ty commute headed from work. Bad weather.

My favorite way to start a new week.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Right now I'd take your sh**ty commute and long Monday over what I'm going through.
Sir, if i could snap a finger to improve your situation, I would.

When you end your day as I did sitting with a recently SLK transplant recipient who is currently in recovery (substances), undomeciled, on day 60 for his hospital stay (bouncing back and forth from the ICU, haven't seen the outside of a medical facility since January) after seeing a woman in a library to help her apply for food stamps as she works through an autoimmune illness, biopolar and substance use recovery. When both people state they find your emotional support useful...you are kept grounded.

If I could snap my fingers to improve their lots lot too, I would as well.

Everyone's struggle is important to them. I stopped comparing horror stories a long time ago as it's such a ******* contest that disrepects everyone in their own difficult pace.

I'm just tired emotionally and it's only Monday. That's where my initial comments came from. No complaints, just self-deprecating, self-directed sarcasm. But I signed up to help, so I cannot complain. These folks didn't sign up for what life has thrown them and yet they're still super positive.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

When you see what I see at work, I prefer not to be as detailed as I did in the last post. Some things are best left unsaid, especially when you see people in their most vulnerable state.

It makes you that much more annoyed when you see politrickians pulling funding from programs that work and sliding pork to places that don't help nothing.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

So phones wise, my list is what it is because:

The Key 2 is at the bottom of the list, not because I don't want to try one, but I want something with ingress protection. Plus, with work how it is now, I'm not going to have time use the keyboard in the way I'd want.

The top pick would be the V35+. V30 design, 128GB internal storage, headphone jack, SD support (the G7's camera) and Qi. Problem is, LG is having you pay out of the nose for the V35 unlocked.

Mate 10 Pro is on the list as I like the camera and the battery. I didn't like the screen when I saw it for some reason, but could suck it up. Always liked the monochrome sensors.

The G7 is the more practical LG choice, as frankly, it ain't gonna sell better than the G6. So I take a design I like a little less, a little less RAM for the new Boom box (that I won't use much) and a super bright display at a price that's way cheaper than the V35 unlocked.

Good thing in not trying to buy anything now. Oh, I'll still keep the Pixel and Mix 2 if I add one or two phones from this list in the fall.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

I saw an Andy's phone in white on the train today...man, what a polarizing device. I'll always have mixed feelings about it.

Re: WC 150K Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Ah okay, that makes a lot of sense actually.
I would have considered one a while back but it was too expensive. See, because I have a Pixel I can still see what Google does OS wise for the next 2+ years first (which is why I won't sell it). So now I'm a bit more OK with going after the features I like again.

It sounds like you eliminated one. Sometimes it is a bummer to have to make the honest choice, but the good thing is that you have time on your side and hopefully that will come with a price drop.

Yeah...sadly the Key 2 is out.

Ooh I'm jealous that you saw one in real life!

That's totally understandable. It's such a unique device. If I knew that Amazon would sell it for $250, I would have gotten that over the Note 4 I have. I like the Note but the standby battery life is terrible, even with airplane mode on.

See, I get why you picked the Note 4...but if size wasn't an issue, there are a ton of choices in the bargain bin. Sounds like you may need to get an extra battery (or get new ones) to see.

I know this must have been a hard decision, as I can imagine how that felt for you. I feel similarly about the XZ2 Compact. My soul still wants one but I know it doesn't make sense.

It was easy for me, actually. I really wanted to use and own a Key 2. I just realized that I'm not on my phone in the days as much over the past year since the new job. So while I'd love to have the dedicated keyboard, the current price and some of the options I can choose (carrier branded G7, Mate 10 Pro) that are cheaper and closer to what I want bumped it off the list.

Now, if I didn't have a Pixel 2, HTC 10, 950 XL, and Mix 2, then I would have added a Key 2. At this point, I want two devices I can actively use for different reasons.

I believe that now. I'll think about it.
I'm glad that I only use it to read but it's giving me Lumia 950 series battery feelings. For now, it's just easier to turn it off when I know that I'm not going to be reading for a few hours at least.

Gotcha. This makes a lot of sense and I can picture you doing this very easily.

There's an Indian restaurant in Artesia that we like. In particular they have a dish that we absolutely love. Well I'm happy to report that I have managed to reverse engineer it!
And yes folks, it tastes amazing

Yeah, I'm doing that right now. The Pixel as the daily driver and the Mix 2 as the tablet replacement for the Z3TC.

If I add say the LG and Mate 10 Pro, the Pixel goes to the bench/collection to be checked monthly for updates. The LG as the daily driver and the Mate 10 Pro as the active backup. Mix 2 does tablet duty. We will see as there's still time to decide.
