Found a potentially sneaky good pair of wireless headphones I'll try in the next few weeks. If they are good as they appear, then phones like the Mate 10 Pro and XZ2 will leapfrog the V35.

I'm still getting a V35 regardless. But, if I get decent audio on the Pixel 2, I'll be deciding if I want better audio, micro SD card and Qi (XZ2) vs bigger battery battery life and more versatile camera (Mate 10 Pro). Why would I bench the Pixel 2 for either of those phones? For sacrificing good camera, more pocket friendly dimensions and better software updates to gain those features. If Pixel 3 was cheaper, I'd get that and be OK.

Sounds like you have a great plan here.

Just fighting the new phone itch. I really want to upgrade the audio experience. I still have the DAP, the issue there is that the UI doesn't allow me to do certain things.

Having no extra money helps. Kinda sucks as I saw a mint green XZ2 in mint condition that usually I would have gotten. I'm just hopeful the headphones help.

I just realized that my trusty Galaxy A3 is done with updates for good. I don't think it's going to get a security update either. I am really impressed that it started with 6.0 and ended at 8.0. Even so, I think it's always going to be special to me and I plan to use it in situations where it makes sense to use as a phone. I wish that they updated it though to not be bigger but I guess I can just continue to cycle through phones.

The audio output on the Meizu M15 is stunning. This device is something I didn't want in the lot and it's the one that is surprising me the most so far. Oh and this is on my cheapest $5 Walgreens headphones.

It has USB-C charging port and a headphone jack. Just like every phone should!

Virtually zero side bezel and tiny top and bottom bezels mean a really compact phone with a 5.5" screen. This is a Nexus 5 sized device.

Quite impressed so far. SIM card test tomorrow.

Hello... Been awhile!;;

My laptop having problems (flashing/blinking shapes & lines on the screen)... Had this budget Acer i5 for three years, and wouldn't you know it.. the warrantee expired LAST month... manufacturer triggered kill switch conspiracy ahoy!!!
Took it to the service centre yesterday,and now it just waiting to know how much it'll cost to fix it. Fingers crossed hoping it's nothing major...

Meanwhile, work continues. Used my trusty 950XL in continuum at office for 1½ days. (msft display hub, an old monitor, USB mouse & regular full keyboard) Years on, this still manage to turn heads.

Don't see it as a long term solution, bringing my Surface along tomorrow.. to do some serious excel work!!!

Man, I miss mTalk.. It's such a hassle to post here on a phone

So a mini update on the Cat S31 phone.
I like it a lot, the small screen is a rarity. It's built like a tank but is surprisingly light. It is running 7.1.2 but has the latest October security patch which is nice. Screen is quite good and it gets LTE on T-Mobile. Performance is a bit jittery since it has an old Snapdragon 210 and only 2GB RAM. Also storage is quite paltry at 16GB. It does have SD card support thought. Cameras are so so which isn't surprising and the rear camera is awfully slow if HDR is turned on (again not surprising). Speaker is loud, headphone jack output is okay (not great like the Meizu even with my expensive Sony cans). I am debating if I should give this to my mom, she can probably drop it a few times a day and this thing will still survive. She needs a phone to make calls and WhatsApp that's it.
