WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Meh weather. Used to be snow when it got like this...View attachment 141791View attachment 141792
Don't say climate change cause apparently that's not the reason...

I am of course being sarcastic.

I'm sure when the polar vortex happens again they'll all be out there commenting about fake climate science... Not realising that science predicts these events as part of climate change...

Just like they keep trying to dodge the issue in Australia about the bushfires.

Unfortunately most people get stuck on the carbon emissions and rising temperatures. Totally forgetting that other aspects, such as land clearing, that has a huge affect.

Lots of Australia has been cleared. Especially on the East coast.

Also the BS about bushfires being a historical thing in Australia. No, they only became more common after humans went there. Before that it was like any other place on Earth where they would happen from a bad weather event.

What's happening in Australia is not normal. It is human caused, both climate wise and purposely/accident lit fires.

Humans are the cause behind the extremes there.

So last week I went to see my new accountant. I unfortunately need one. I also stopped by our 'office' (just an address) to pick up mail.

My wife commented that we did a tour of most of Paris's landmarks just by driving there and back to our friends place we were staying at.

So to give a run down... Not necessarily in order.

Eiffel Tower
Napoleon's Tomb
Arc de Triomph
Champs Elysees
Petite Palais Royal
Grand Palais Royal
Musee Louvre
Musee D'Orsay
Notre Dame
St. Chappelle
Pantheon
Jardin Luxembourg

My wife also commented we could've charged tourists for that!

We're royally and unequivocally ****ed when it comes to the environment.

Wow! That's amazing but also hilarious

Well, new job starts tomorrow...

That break went quicker than expected.

Next stage is finding a place to live. Hopefully quickly!

I forgot to comment on this yesterday but seeing the images makes me feel sad.

Having fun dealing with HR and IT trying to onboard a new hire and get him a laptop for work.

2020 is off to a great start I see.

Oh dear, this sounds like a process. I hope they'll cooperate to get it done sometime this week.
Well got an employee ID number and laptop etc but having a whale of a time trying to get network access and email address for the new hire.

Monday came and did its usual Monday s**t. Now I'm out a grand after having the clutch on the Hummer vaporize. Oh well, it's got 185k on the clock and if it were an automatic the damage would've been closer to three grand. On the bright side, the new set up is feathery light which means mama may hijack it and leave me with her Jeep. Nice little SUV but I hate the shifter on it. A 5-speed lever sticking out of the dashboard just doesn't seem right, it feels so minivan-ish.

That really sucks. I hope your car runs great now and nothing else breaks.

I hope the IT department isn't like this. https://youtu.be/rksCTVFtjM4
Nah, they're actually quite helpful.
The problem is that I hired a consultant with a special agreement. A full time employee or a contractor would be hired via the regular posting channel and in those cases the system generated the user ID, temp password and prompts IT to order a computer etc. I have had to trigger all of these actions manually via special forms and requests and hence all the running around.

Second time in 8+ years so it's okay. Although it's second time in 2.5 years so painful as heck and some of the forms have changed

My Monday was a typical first day anywhere.

IT issues, meeting lots of people, forgetting names. Trying to sort out what in doing.

The usual...
