WC 1M Post Challenge - You Ready?!

Had an XZ2. The center FPS was sometimes a pain but I adjusted. I just put my finger on the camera lens a bit too much reaching for the FPS. That design was prime for a dual camera look with an in-screen FPS.
I really liked the location of the FPS on the V20. That took no time at all for me to adjust to, and I wasn't touching camera by mistake.

I ordered the new TWS headset after another round of calls on the Sabbats. Hope to have it by Friday as I do the free shipping. After knowing some of the travails faced by pickers working at Amazon, nothing I order can be seen as super urgent. That's a tough job they have with how rent less Bezos wants to push for convenience.
Which ones did you order? I'd love to hear your thoughts once you've had a chance to try them out.

Well, I'll stay out of the mobile talk.

I'm just going to post some pics of food...

So went into Paris centre, I technically live in Paris but a Parisian would disagree.... I'm literally a 5 minute walk to the 'border'.

Anyway, here's lunch when you don't know where to go and dessert when you do know.

Yeah neither of this is typical 'French food' but Paris is a big city.

The green doughnut is matcha tea and vegan. The other I can't remember the name but not vegan and carmel popcorn on top. Yes that's a cinnamon scroll as well.

We wandered around a bit too. This is one of the few 'passage ways' left in Paris. They're trying to revive them. Great to get out of the weather.

We also went to another area not really tourist friendly but if you want a little edginess in your life and to see a real diverse area then Saint Denis is a good place to go. Went by an Asian shop for some things, picked up coffee from a local roster, went to a Lebanese place for falafel and a bakery for a baguette. There's also Indian and vegan restaurants.

We know this place from our second trip to Paris when we lived in UK.

The archway is the entrance to the district.

I'll drag you back into the mobile talk, Rue as i dont remember if you had given us some long term thoughts of the Xperia 1 on Android 10.

I'm curious to see the 1.1/5+ this year. Design wise, i love what they did last year with the 1 and the 5. If they can improve on those cameras, as based on your samples there is a very good base, they'll be tempting.

I still wish i could have tried the XZ3. I did like the XZ2's personality a lot and the camera was satisfactory for me.

So my setup is complete. Edge is the new browser. Blackberry calendar handles that now as well. I think the only main Google apps I'll be using on this will be Maps and YouTube. I may spend the $10 later in the year to get Niagara launched pro version.

I'll put the V40 up. Maybe I do a trade for it. Maybe I trade it in for something else later in the year. Not sure yet.

Corona virus... Sucks! It's been heartbreaking watching what's happening. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the right sets of lessons will be learned here after it gets under control. As we've grown closer as a global village it's easier for the risks of pandemics. Even though the world health organization hasn't called it a pandemic yet, it already is.

2020 feels to be an odd year in the mobile industry. I've never seen the lack of buzz as to what's coming due to the cancelation of MWC. Perhaps I'm overreacting and maybe this is a good opportunity for OEMs to get more independent attention. Xiaomi and Samsung have started with their flagship, so I guess everyone will start to trickle out theirs over the next two months. Now that MWC has passed, the next major announcement setup is Google I/O in May...

Oh, i find it interesting how no one is talking about corona virus' impact on mobile production.
The only thing I have seen related to it is Apple sharing that they wouldn't be able to meet their targets this quarter because of this.

Yeah it does seem quieter this time around.

I feel for those affected and also for the people dealing with xenophobia, due to this.

I'm curious about HTC this year. Heard they plan to still make a 5G handset this year. I suspect that they may got with the SD7 series chip. Honestly, they were on to something with the U12+ cameras. I doubt they would because of their pricing.

I think it's affected others too, they're not talking about it as much - especially the local OEMs. Now is huge ramp up time for the first half launches, so we will see how fast the Chinese government can get it under control as it is straining the health system.

The only interesting thing about the Galaxy's to me is the 120hz. Yet even that is slightly gimmicky if you think about it. Because 90-120hz could have been enabled on these things long ago, they hold out and as mentioned swing the pendulum whichever way they need.

I like the size of it but this narrow aspect ratio is killing me, does anyone know the point of doing this? I about cried when I actually held the G7 One because almost everything about the device was great minus the notch and screen size/aspect ratio.
The refresh rate is another marketing hype. I think it's a nice improvement, but until all the apps support it, it's another **** swinging feature like when Oneplus was putting a ton of RAM in their phones.

Kinda like folding displays screen to body ratio. There's nothing wrong with bezel imo. I dunno honestly about foldables, unless it's super thin and has a lock feature for the hinge or something... There are so many things that just are not "there" yet.
