What are Factory UnLocked Lumia 822 phones?

I am planning to buy a factory UnLocked Lumia 822 from EBay so just wanted to clear a few doubts.

Is a factory Unlocked phone Unlocked by Verizon or third party?

If it is Unlocked by Verizon, the only way its possible is after 2 months of contract an UnLock code is provide by Verizon as suggested by this links

Can Verizon give me an unlock code for this phone even if I am not a customer? - xda-developers

So in the above case do I also need to get the UnLock code from the seller, cause suppose I update the Phones firmware or OS are there any chances of it getting Locked again?

Apart from the above mentioned way of getting UnLocked phone from verizon is ther any other way of getting Phone Unlocked from Verizon or the above mentioned way means its Factory UnLocked.

Also can I verify if phone is legitimately factory unlocked or its third party unlocked.?

Lumia 822 is factory SIM unlocked. Meaning they do not need an unlock code. Put in a different SIM and roll.

yes you will get 2g and 4g all over the WORLD but no 3g.. As vision 3g is CDMA. You need to find a cdma carrier

If you put it in Global mode wouldn't it connect to whatever network you are trying to use, CDMA or GSM?

Yes, I'm from Dominican Republic and I'm using HDSP+ just check the band of your carrier and see if they are the same! And yes the phone came unlocked, just put into your phone and ready!

I m using the phone in India on GSM network and I can make Calls send SMS, use 2g &3g for browsing internet every thing works fine on GSM network.
But my friend uses the phone on CDMA network He can make Calls send SMS but no internet on CDMA network, because for CDMA its locked into Verizon network its unlocked only for GSM network.

You can't use CDMA, but it is indeed GSM unlocked, which means you can use it with any carrier that uses a SIM card. Everything, including the internet, works in all EDGE, 3G, HSPA and HSPA+ as long as your carrier uses one of the bands that it comes with: GSM/GPRS/EDGE (1800/850/900/1900 MHz), 3G WCDMA, HSUPA, HSDPA, HSPA+ (900/2100/1900/850 MHz). Make sure to update the firmware and OS to the latest version and install the Nokia Access Point app for automatic and easy data configuration.

I am using factory UnLocked Lumia 822, i can able to call and sent SMS, but i cant able to connect internet in this mobile.

anyone can tell me the solution for this problem
