4.5 on my Lumia 920 is just perfect , the screen quality and size were made for each other ;)
its easier for me to carry my phone in jeans , I am very skinny btw :p apart from that 5-6 are huge and will sure slip many times from my small hands :)
one can easily type in both landscape and portrait mode , and enjoying HD movies/ playing games isn't that bad , ( for playing games / movie I go with my iPad though I wish I have surface :\)

4.3"-4.5" screen size for me. Anything smaller than that is just annoying to use and anything bigger just feels ridiculous as a phone.

I'm looking forward to the Icon, though I've never used a 5" phone before. When I tried out the Note 2 at 5.5", that felt really good. So I think my perfect screen size would be 5-5.5"

Very interesting how 4.5 inches is on the low end for size of smart phone screens and still too large for you, whereas other people feel 4.5 is too small. I have a NL925 and I think it is perfect. However everytime I use my brother's galaxy S 2 (4.3 inches) I love how petit and small it seems compared to every other phone out there. The key is to make a 4 to 4.3 inch phone with high end specs. Normally these days small means budget.

I used to think 4.8" was the sweet spot but I can't deny all the love people are giving to the 6" L1520. I'd have to say 5.3" based on speculation only. I know my 4.5" L920 is now too small.

After using a 1520 for a few days now, don't see myself ever going back to a smaller screen. Love having a bigger screen.

I'm debating as well. I don't care how it looks cuz I'm not a hipster, but I wish I could try it out in my pockets to see how it fits.

Ok. I've had my 1520 since release day. It took me about a week to get used to the size. After that first week, I now know for a fact that I can never go back to using a smaller phone again. Now to answer a couple of often asked questions.....
What does it look like near your face when talking on it? Well, I don't really care how it looks. Whatever I want to talk into is my choice. I can't really care what other people think. I've had one person tell me it looked like a TV, but she was maybe 14. I'm 38, so her opinion did little to make me question my choice. Everybody else I've shown my phone to had nothing but good things to say.
Does it fit in pockets? Yes. I keep my 1520 in my back pocket at times and my shirt pocket at times without issue. It is a little tall for the shirt pocket, however, but nothing too hard to deal with. I don't keep it in my front pocket, but it does fit with ease.
Hope my two cents help. :)

Hey thanks, that is helpful because I keep my L920 in my back pocket most of the time so if it fits there I'm good to go.

4.3-4.7. Good enough to web browse, and watch videos on Netflix.

Sent from my XT1060 using Mobile Nations mobile app

Well, I have two in-store dummy models of the phone in my desk drawer. They are the exact size and weight of the real thing. PM me and I'd be more than happy to send you one. I don't need them any more. I'll put it in the mail tomorrow if you want one.

I have the 8x and that size seems perfect for me but playing around withe 1520 at the at&t store makes me question that preference. If they had the 1520 for tmobile, I'd love to switch to it.

My last two phones and first two Windows Phones were the biggest screens on phones I've had so far (had an iPhone 4 before and feature phones before that). I'm definitely good with 4.3 ala my Lumia 810 and 4.5 ala my 920. Although I MAY end up getting a phone with a 5 inch screen (Sony Xperia Z1S) if I land this job I interviewed for recently - not that I'm ditching WP, but I would need an Android phone to use hands on to write how to articles regarding that OS.

Anyway... 4.3 - 4.5 inches it is.
