Thats what tablets are for (I have two, 7" and 8.9"). If you can't affort a tablet and a smart phone I could see having a big phone. But its not for me. You can much better cover all the bases with a smaller phone and a tablet. Than one device.
I used to agree, but since getting my 1520 (and actually getting used to using it), I've changed my mind. Yes, it is still a large phone, but it fits nicely in my normal pockets (whereas I needed cargo trousers to carry the 7" tablet around comfortably). It's MUCH better than smaller phones for displaying photographs (I've used it several times this last week while shopping around for furniture and playing the different stores against each other - one of the clerks commented "that's a huge phone", the others just said "wow, that's a great photo").
My arsenal now consists of the 1520 and a Surface 2. I still own a number of other tablets (from both the android and ios camp) but I haven't used any of them since November. My laptop hasn't been booted up for the past six months or so and the surface 2 has definitely seen less usage after I picked up the 1520. I do still have a desktop computer as well, but that's used exclusively for development these days (and project planning, but I can see this being done on the surface as well if I were able to ever get my hands on a type cover for it).
Just my $0.02
