Hi im looking at purchasing a new Lumia 1020 which is currently on sale for a similar price to the 735 where I am. Just wondering what others think? Go for the 1020 over the 735 or am I better off spending the bit extra for the 830?
I like the idea of the 41MP camera on the 1020, but would I be better served with the faster processors of the newer flag ships. Is it still worth purchasing the older 1020?

The Lumia 830 and 735 are not that different, they both have a 1.2GHz Cortex A-7 and 1GB RAM, but the 830 has a 10MP rear camera and a 0.9MP front camera. The 735 has a 6.7MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The 830 has a memory of 16GB, the 735 only has 8GB but both support Micro SD, finally the 830 has Glance, but this phone costs like 60$ more than the 735. They both roll out with Lumia Denim. The Lumia 1020 has a dual core 1.5GHz Krait and 2GB RAM, it has a 41MP rear camera and a 1.2MP front camera and has 32GB of memory but doesn't support Micro SD. To me the 1020 is a beautiful device, especially the camera but the 735 is really worth buying to.

I would go for the 735 because I don't really need the camera a lot.

Merry Christmas and I hope I've helped

If you are into photography then 1020 is for you.I know it is one and half years old but still its the best camera phone out there.L735 will do everything that you expect from a mid range phone.you can call it jack of all trades but master of none.
But with 1020 you won't be disappointing with one thing and that is clicking pictures. It was built for that.
Good Luck.I hope i helped you.
Do keep us posted.

They did a compairson of the 920 vs the 830 a few weeks ago and found the the two were about the same in actual speed. (1020 has same processor as the 920, but an extra 1GB of phone memory). So if you are choising the 735 only because of the quad core 400 don't. If you have other reasons for getting the 735 then fine. It convinced me to keep my 820 and not upgrade to the 830. Though I still plan on upgrading to something one day. But not today.

The only reason I'm getting the 735 is because most of the specs are the same as the 830, the specs that the 830 has better than the 735 are Glance, 8GB of difference, a better rear camera and a weaker front camera, I know specs don't say everything but I'm not paying €60 to €80 more for those features.
