Not in the latest update. I think they have added it back in the beta

Not to worry its common now just wait for few hours it will again work smoothly. When it comes to whatsapp you just have to wait. Wait for it work properly, wait for notifications and wait for the Updates...

Whatsapp having a delayed notifications again on w.p 8.1. First few weeks are working flawlessly on 8.1 and this week just having some issues again.

Tweeted the whatsapp page but not holding much luck for a response. Only thing i can think is the update is due out very soon and they're holding out for that as they know the fix is in that or something along those lines

I think they were waiting for windows 8.1 so that they can check its functionality. As its out now they are checking it and try to make it work perfect. Now the only option is to think positively

*sigh* Whatsapp is working decently at the moment, though it eats a lot of battery due to the constant speaker bug, but the wait for the next update is frustrating anyway... How they can be that slow. I want those background so eagerly!

Whatsapp wont update for 8.1, currently. As just 3% users opted for 8.1 PDP! Does anyone have idea about this? It was posted in another thread whatsapp notification problem

I had frustration on 8.1, due to WhatsApp. I had to downgrade to 8, just cause of WhatsApp.

Its obvious.
WhatsApp wont update for 3%, when 97% won't have such problem.
Moreover, whatsapp team seems to be waiting for final windows phone 8.1 update. May be, just interpretation.
