I have a ATIV S and it's supposed to have faster processor and WP8 is supposed to be fast and butter smooth. At least that's what people are saying. But when I compare the launching of Whatsapp with a Samsung Note 2, my ATIV S is consistently slower. Any idea why?

Hello, I'm having problems with the notifications on my Lumia 1520. The problems started since Sunday (after the final restore of the service) and just receive the notificacions when I open the app. Anyone experience the same issue? Tried everything was suggested by Whatsapp in their webpage, also install again the app.

I experienced the same, and a soft reset of my 520 seemed to fix it.

I used to face same issue on my Lumia 720. It got resolved after i did a hard reset of my phone.

This might sounds silly, but is your date and time set up properly? Your push notifications should be working since you've reinstalled the app and done a soft reset (press and hold volume down and power keys until the phone vibrates). Are push notifications working for other apps?

Yes, I also checked that. It's quite strange. I contacted also Windows Phone Support, but the developer should be the one that may have a clue of the problem.

Would wait for the response. I'm quite sure that the solution may be quite simple. I would tell you about it.

I am not getting push notifications on time when the phone is locked/on standby. Most times I don't realize I have messages until I open whatsapp, or I get push notifications 5 to 30 mins late. I have the whatsapp background task enabled, and I have WiFi set to be on even when the screen times out. I have also soft-reset my Lumia 720 but still suffer from delayed push notifications. I have noticed that if whatsapp is closed I will get push notifications quicker, but still sometimes 3-5 minutes late. Having whatsapp minimized causes push notifications to delayed from 3 to 30 mins.

If you are having difficulty receiving notifications, your phone may not be configured correctly.

For Windows Phone 8 users, please also check the following:

In Windows Phone settings > lock screen > Choose apps to show quick status: WhatsApp
In Windows Phone settings > WiFi > Advanced > Please check on "Keep WiFi on when screen times out"

I have checked those 2 things and they are set up properly. WhatsApp used to receive notifications perfectly before, and I haven't changed any settings. The only thing that has changed was that I updated to the GDR3 preview, so you might want to look into the possibility that it could be a bug with GDR3.

This issue persists with the latest version.
