why can't i connect my w10m lumia 950 (build 14393) with the Microsoft wireless display adapter?

I bought a microsoft wireless display adapter amd a lumia 950 phone. I was able to connect the phone with the wireless adapter and view my videos. Once I updated to windows redstone insider updates, I've been having issue where it says error and won't connect.

does the adaptor get updates too? Such as firmware?

There's a few updates available for the MS wireless adapters so grab the Store app and get updating
