Why can't I type on my Lumia 720?

Lumia 720 cannot type

So my Lumia 720 cannot type in chat boxes recently. All my facebook chats, line, whatsapp, bbm chatboxes are not typable as one may say. But weirdly, I can type in sms boxes so I can reply to a message easily. In addition to that, I can still send pictures and voicenotes without any problem. It has been 3 days now and I cannot respond to any of my chats on those apps. Please help.

You could try a soft reset first.
Or go to settings > keyboard > tap the language you use > unmark "type as I flick trough letters". (= disable word flow).

I already tried soft resetting the phone and it still would not type. It is more of like I cannot press the chatbox to type. The keyboard didn't even show up. I would repeatedly press the chatbox to activate the keyboard but it does nothing. I even uninstalled and reinstall all of those apps.
At first I thought that something was wrong with the keyboard but then I tried sms and it works fine as I can actually press the chat box and the keyboard showed up.
