Why is my nokia lumia 520 acting weird?

When i charge my phone, i would check it for notifications. But when i do it would just shut off on me and when it turns back on i notice that it tells me that i have no service, it won't show any of my notifications and the date and time are screwed up. can anyone help me to fix it? or should i just get a new phone..

Battery is probably dying out.
You could try the old trick placing a folded piece of printer paper underneath the battery to shim it up against the contacts.
This has worked for many 520 users in the past.

I do recommend getting a newer better phone that runs WM10 however.
