Why system uses ~9.11 gb of phone memory on my lumia 1520?

my lumia 1520 is one year old. Before 6 months, system only was using 5-6 gb, but before 3 months it covered about 8 gb. I thought the update should fix this issue, but after upgrading to WP 8.1 update 2, it peaked @ 9.11 gb. please help me to reduce that.
I don't want to reset my phone. Thankyou.

Are you using any programs that use special files that WP doesn't recognize? I think MS changed the way files are recognized these days.

Is there some reason why you won't reset? Playing a game with no backup or something?

You could use Storage Sense to delete some temporary files and delete IE history.
Furthermore delete a few apps you do not use.

I've added no unrecognizable file but storage sense shows 10.1 gb is covered by 'other'.

You do realise that there are a lot of file types that WP does not recognize right?
