WiFi incredibly slow. Poor driver?

I have 30meg broadband and have tested the speed using the Microsoft Network Speed Test app on my Windows 8.1 desktop and my Windows 8 phone and it does average at 30megs download. However when running the same app on my Vivotab RT running 8.1 as well, the speed averages between 5-6meg download. What the heck is going on? Why does my tablet not have the same download speed as my other two devices on the same network? Anyone else? Are there any tweaks i can do in network settings?

Yes but 8.1 on my desktop has the full 30meg download in the speed test app.

Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 aren't the same. Plus your computers will have different hardware, meaning different drivers (or the same driver with different results).

I have disabled some protocols which has helped. Got as much as 20meg speed now.

Can we get an update on this ? Mine is fairly slow at times on loading websites etc as well, that just rip on my win 7 laptop.
