I have an AIO and like it. I am wondering will a touch monitor work through the dock with a surface 3? That way I can have the same functionality with less devices to worry about. And my wife can have her setup and I can mine! I think it would be ideal for us.

As long as you have an available USB 3.0 port, you can use a touchscreen monitor. The touch information is transmitted through the USB. The video and audio is via HDMI (or you can use DVI or VGA with the traditional 1/8" PC audio cable).

I have the Acer T272HL 27 inch touchscreen monitor and it's fantastic.

Yes, the video and audio are transported via HDMI or DisplayPort.

The touch information is transmitted via USB. It'll all make sense once you have a touchscreen monitor.
