I keep getting all the insider updates but it seems like every time it updates, it re-downloads my contacts so I now have some contacts in there 6 times! The problem is that it messes up the msg and email threads since one time it might use the contact from Verizon backup assistant and then hotmail and then live. I'd like to turn off all but one of these and I can't find anywhere to turn off the verizon app since it doesn't even show up in the apps list. Any help or suggestions?

If your talking about Verizon back up assistant, go to settings, go to the bottom of the list -extra's, then go to the top of the list see back up assistant should be able to turn off.

Found it... but it says "sorry, we ran into a problem with email restore and were not able to complete that part of the setup. Please try again later." This is after updating to .189 yesterday. I think it backs up to my one drive acct already so I'm OK with that. I just want to avoid all the multiple contacts and messed up msg threads.

The phone definitely seems faster and snappier than with the .187 update.

Yep, your right it back's up to OneDrive, the back up assistant does not work with windows phone anymore as per Verizon engineers about 9 months ago. I went thru all of that.

So now the phone won't open Outlook email more than once without restarting the phone. It show the new emails in the live tile but won't actually open outlook- just sits there with the dots going around in a circle endlessly. And, I just checked but it also won't open calendar. Geez Microsoft, get your act together. Do I need to do some sort of hard reset to fix this? Anyone else see this problem?

My Outlook "opens" but was not receiving new emails - I had to go to settings > Accounts > email. I also did a soft reset but there were some issues that I had never seen in Outlook Mobile before.

Mine seems to be working fine for the past day... But last night, the hotspot wouldn't turn on after working during the day. It might be a Verizon issue because it is working again today. Hopefully, MS gets these issues worked out. WP10 "works" but the experience is nowhere near as good as 8.1 was on my 822.

Hay, if you haven't done a hard reset on your icon i would really think about it, You are going to be fighting issues forever until you do pick a day when you have 2-3 hours and go for it. My icon no problems at all since

Mine is behaving relatively trouble free. Battery use was higher a few months ago but better and quite livable now. BT issues occasionally again back a few versions but almost none now. Only once did it refuse the device completely. I found out that deleting the device and waiting a day soft of let both the device and phone reset themselves and I could add the device and synch up perfectly. Trying repeatedly to get a BT device working that isn't just seems to be very time consuming and not get far. Wait an hour or two and suddenly whatever wasn't going before works better. That's hard if its an exercise device or car where your set to do your thing "right now" but once something does synch up correctly it stays in good behavior from then on out.
  • Outlook panel still doesn't quite show my upcoming meetings all the time but I know they know and are working on that.
  • Car synching is spot on but I have a fairly new car and not much other than streaming and data services are needed for the car so could be my usage is simpler by nature than others.
  • Icon is definitely not being ignored - which should give us heart for the future of W10 devices on VZ

:)

Recently tried the latest fast ring build and ran into problems with the Garmin Connect app and pairing my Garmin device. Ended up having to WDRT back to 8.1, then upgrade my way back to the latest release preview. So far since doing so, the phone has been rock-solid. My only gripe now is battery life, but that's never been the Icon's strong suite anyway. As long as I charge it whenever I have the opportunity, its fine. No way it'll last through the whole day without charging.

I believe the Icon may well have been the best windows phone ever, and I try to maintain a slim hope that someday a true (hopefully unlocked) CDMA flagship will come along. My neck of the woods is Verizon or US Cellular country, GSM coverage is Edge to 2G at best around here.

My phone updated to 14393.221 today and seems good. Outlook is opening fine and it connects to my car (Ford Sync) every time now. Plus, it actually read me a complete text message instead of reading a couple of words and then going back to the radio. Things are looking up...

OTA Update for 10.0.14393.321 successfully pushed yesterday to our Icons - we are not on any Insider, so this was a "standard/public" update. It went "faster than previous" although I didn't time it. Our "slow Outbox" with Mobile Outlook that I had for many weeks, seems to have been fixed - but, there was a Mail and Calendar UPDATE pushed yesterday from the "Microsoft Store" to 17.7369.40738.0 which is the more likely fix.

This is #4 or #5 update since AU and our Icons are running STRONG !

Got the gears late last night as well on my wireless charger. I am on no previews of any kind, and refuse to be an "insider" to pick up Microsoft's slack. "Hey Cortana" now magically works, don't know if it was this update but..ballin'!

Finally updating right now (I got it on my laptop last night). I got the 'goodbye' screen before the gears came up, so that's a new one. "Hey Cortana" got fixed for me 1 or 2 updates ago, but I'm on Release Preview so maybe I got something earlier.

Got the latest update on my Icon & i'm having issues of my mailbox not updating...specifically my Gmail account. In order to resolve it, I must turn my phone off & back on.
Anyone else having these issues?
