Windows 10 Mobile Very Slow on Lumia 1020

I had signed up for Windows Insider Access and the update appears to have re-written my image to Windows 10 (even the restore image). I ended up opting out, I didn't realize they give very buggy software.

I really like how Cortana reads text messages to me while I'm driving but the update has slowed this down 10X. I have to wait for the phone to process whatever its doing before it begins to read. This drives me a little crazy.

Is there ANYTHING I can do to speed Windows 10 Mobile up?

After upgrading my 1020 straight to W10M it was slow also, I ended up doing a hard reset (3 times due to other issues) but now it's working really well.

Must do a hard reset after the update to 10, and better still to not do a restore and let everything update and re install your apps.

I installed all the iterations of developer preview till the latest 10586.36. All were really slow including the latest one and phone takes unreasonably long time to load as simple as Phone and Messaging app.

Can someone share their experience with latest preview built?

I think I will stick to 8.1 for my 1020.
