Windows 8.1 Skype Multiple Contacts Showing

For the love of God, what is going on with my Skype? This sorta goes back to the messenger/Skype merger. I am seeing double. I have family members setup with Skype and Microsoft accounts. Everyone has linked their Skype account linked with their MS account. Why am I seeing 2 contacts for my wife and others (One Skype and one Messenger)? Are they not supposed to be linked into one, or is something borked?

The Skype blog reports that version 2.5 now allows users to add contacts from the people page. Microsoft says, "To add someone, just select the icon below, type in a name, email address, Microsoft account or SkypeID". Contacts can still be added to the Skype app from search or by swiping the command bar.
