Would you buy a mobile with 7 day battery life with no camera and lower res display?

you can always get an external battery for your pocket supercomputer. 22400 mAh battery that will last you 9 full phone charges is $50 on amazon.
given a heavy usage scenario with battery that needs to be recharge at the end of every work day (say sometime in the evening), and given that you'll still have some % left (you don't leave it to go to 0 now do you), you should be able to last around 10 days with such battery.

This is my solution... I've been pricing out larger capacity external batteries for a couple weeks now, and once I can find one I like that meets my perceived need I'll be pulling the trigger.

Great, then your don't need 1080p display or 4k display (which is ridiculous to have on a small device anyway) - guess how much battery life you would get and still do what you want to do.

My point is smartphones try to cater to everyones needs by offering everything. there isn't a single person that uses ALL of the features. I guess its simple psychology and fear of losing out by not having the 'latest' and 'greatest'. Im thinking of going retro and back to a tiny phone and an 8 inch surface when it comes out as I don't get compromised on either.

I really am not concentred about battery since I have charging plates, portable charger and car charger. I rarely have my battery get lower than 50%, since I just place my device on a charging plate on my desk most of the time. I'd say I'm a fairly heavy user, considering that this is a little over halfway through my billing cycle.
