Another note: I cannot find any pattern whatsoever to when this happens. The phone can be beside me at my desk not being used and suddenly it lights up with the boot-screen and asks for my PIN. It has as far as i can remember never restartet or froze up when in use.

The phone shuts down and has to be restarted with volume down and power button. This seems completely random and is fairly infrequent (sometimes over a week may go in between). I had hoped the Portico update had fixed it but it happened again this morning. Just hope it hasn't made it worse

The phone generally requires a soft-reset about 3 times/week, often it's first thing in the morning (straight off the charger), however have also had it lock up once during a phone call (with bluetooth to the car), and occasionally during the day.

I have already entered my phone's details so will just give an update on my experience. My phone has just been to Nokia care twice. It has just returned from a 'High level' repair service centre. They said they had repaired a corrupt memory but advised that I format my sd card before putting it back in the phone as this may be the problem. This seemed like a load of nonsense to me and that they were clutching at straws. It's always your fault in these cases..like when the internet goes off and it takes ages to convince the ISP it is not your modem that is at fault! Anyway I decided not to put my sim back in or my SD card and leave it as it was for a while. It had been wiped and so was in a factory state with no added software. The battery was about 80%. Went to look at it after a couple of hours and it was off and would not restart. I put in the charger then to see if it was the battery after all but no joy. I know I can volume down and power start it but am leaving it as it is for the Nokia people to see. So there you are ..no sim card, no sd card and no apps that didn't come with the phone and it still turns itself off! I think we could blame all sorts of things but it is basically the phone and I want a replacement. My wife bought the same model (820) at the same time and has so far had no problems at all.

BTW are these posts going to be sent to Nokia?

This is just fuc*ed up! Had random freezes 3 times already today. All whilst using WhatsApp (piece of sh*t app!). I have such freezes usually during whatsapp or while recording the video (i go mad!) .All this happening after Portico update. My phone was just absolutely gorgeous and trouble free before it.

Off again this morning good job I wasn't on call or set the Alarm Orange wanted To send me a refurbished phone this time probably one of the three I sent back I have had a new sim too they told me a manager would call me back he didnt bother Not a very good buisness contract service.
