Runtime Error message when I boot up Windows 10

I recently upgraded my laptop from W 7 to W 10. Now when I switch on I get a
'Runtime Error! Program: C\Windows\system32\atibtmon.exe'
'This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.'

Then there's the top 'half' of a line that reads 'Please contact the application's support team for more '
The only option is to click 'OK' and everything continues as normal. Any idea what this means and how to get rid?

Im getting the same error as well, at boot up.
Runtime error.
i noted that a automatic windows update, prompted me to update my ATI radeon graphics card.
After windows update installed.
It pops up at boot up, so i think this is where the problem lies.
Very annoying indeed.
Ive looked at various online help threads, and not bein pc savvy, would not recommended tinkering with the windows registry.
Hopefully microsoft will release a patch to sort this.
just annoying.
Think a few people are getting this error.

It's something from ATI Brightness Monitor. I'd say it's incompatible with W10. I would disable it via Task Manager -> Startup and see if anybody misses it. Also/or I'd check if there are W10 drivers for the graphic card available from the manufacturer. They may bring a compatible version of this programme, too.

on my HP Pavilion I found it under ctl panel/appearance and
personalization/display/screen resolution/generic pnp monitor/driver/disable
selected device and now the error box is gone
