one of my friend has updated his 525 his reply was WP 8.1 is just osum and cortana is mind blowing.

please change your memory card to class 6 or class 10 so that your apps and games saved on sd card will run smoothly

Go ahead WP 8.1 update will didn't give any problem for me

There is a known issue with the battery life. I got Lumia 525 and after update to 8.1, the battery drains very fast... now i'm trying factory reset. maybe it helps...
