So Glance on L720 will kill its battery...

Not always. Fundamentally, the problem with non-AMOLED devices is that for activation of only a part of screen the entire screen needs to be activated which leads to battery usage. However the peek feature in the glance option switches off display after 10 seconds, reactivating it only when the proximity sensor detects motion. That helps to save battery to a great extent. I am using peek on a lumia 920 (screen technology same as 720) and the battery drain coz of glance isn't really noticeable.

However, the 15 min timed option and always on option will definitely have a significant impact on the battery, more so in the latter case.

820 will not be a better performer in image quality per se but yeah...cuz of 512MB of RAM

With 1.5ghz dual core processor and 1GB RAM, 820 is a beast in front of the amateur 720! The Zoom in 820 is mind-boggling.. Only phones that can beat 820 are 92x and 1020 ofcourse.. 520,620,720 all are same ****! 720 will get the update last along with 520..

Yeah but it loses out on looks, weight, battery life and camera(720 at times even matches quality of 920 camera). So basically its an overall better package in that price range. That was my deciding factor between the two phones. And i was not gonna pay few bucks more just so that i could zoom a little more. Moreover the LTE advantage of 820 is moot in India where 4G has just started thus tariffs are insane. I'll stick to 3G.

I hardly think that the zoom is 'mind boggling' on any phone other than the lumia 1020 and nokia 808. The rest are just ok. And i am using both a 720 and a 920, there isnt much of a difference in zoom for both the phones. And i am sure the 920 has a better zoom than 820.

No where in the world 720 update reached the stage of "Coming Soon". This means something. I believe the update for 720 in not yet ready. And being the one launched last in the family could be the possible reason without going into the popularity or sales in numbers....Any takers??

720 design, battery life and display quality is to die for and nothing even comes close to its camera in its league. And don't forget the wireless charging. How its all the same sh*t? Please stop being a "nautanki".
