How do I fix update Error 80188309?

Update Error 80188309

Anyone with Ativ S T899M (Rogers) with developer preview having this issue? for the last few days, my phone has been notifying me an update is available, but every time it downloads it, it finishes the download, then starts to install it, but then it quits and gives error 80188309, "the update was downloaded, but couldn't be opened."
Not sure what build its downloading, current installed build is 8.10.14219.341
I doubt free space is an issue...
Phone Storage 9.40 GB free
SD card 19 GB (of 64 GB) free
I have only attempted to download via wifi on my home network (100 Mbit connection) don't want to waste my data connection, especially if the update will fail.
I can only assume the build its downloading is 8.10.15116.125 (GDR 2) since 8.10.14226.359 and 8.10.14234.375 seem to be specific for the Lumia 535. I highly doubt it's trying to download Windows Mobile 10 for multiple reasons
I'm using Wikipedia as a guide for builds, Wikipedia /wiki/Windows_Phone_version_history

In the past (about1 year ago) this error could happened if you where on preview and wanted to update but this was fixed.
What you could try is get your SD card out and try to update again this seams to work in some cases.
Not sure if you are willing to do a hard reset to loose this error.

I by the way do not think it is GDR2 but probably the official update for your phone with OS (and maybe firmware) comparable to Denim for Lumia phones.
No Lumia phone got the official GDR2 update yet, except the 640's where it was preinstalled so I would be surprised if your phone got it.

I'll try the SD card, as for hard reset, did that last night, and after restoring the phone, and the developer preview enabled, I started getting the error again.
So I kind of doubt its anything from Samsung or my carrier, no updates were being found before I enabled the developer preview.

I tried removing the SD card, no luck, same error. I had some hope as I was actually sitting there watching it. It went up to 96% preparing to install, before it gave up.

Ok, I kind of see an issue here, possibly the reason for the error, I decided to re-flash the factory default 8 rom from Samsung.
and proceeded to download all updates available without enabling developer preview.
Seems Samsung/Rogers has FINALLY released updates to WP 8.1 for the Ativ S, 8.10.14203.306, there is also a new Samsung update for 8.1 as well, which just installed, changing the boot logo from the 8 Windows Phone startup logo, to the 8.1 "Windows logo" logo.
That may have been the update giving me the error.
I am about to restore my device again, now that it's at 8.1, to restore from my OneDrive backup, and enable developer preview, and see if any other updates show up, or if I get to the point where I get that error again, or not...

After restoring my phone, no more updates, even through the developer preview, I an not offered 8.10.14219.341 either, so I'm one build down from previous for whatever reason, but at least there was finally an update from Samsung. That is something good.
