Do I need a new battery or new phone?

two days ago, I dropped my phone while getting out of the car, on the concrete, while it was raining. The back case popped off and so did the battery. I dried it to the best of my ability, and it worked fine. I ran out of battery by the time I got home, so I went to charge it. It would charge to 1-3% then immediately turn off. This process just kept repeating and repeating all night. I did keep it charging the whole night too! I woke up this morning, and it was still stone-cold. So i am still keeping it one the charger and watch it awaken and die, awaken and die. (iv'e tried different chargers and different outlets).

I am due to get a new phone soon anyway. Should I consider replacing the battery or just get a new phone. Also, what seems to be my problem?
Also I have had this phone for 3 years.

The fact that it fell, I would say get a new phone.

To be on the safe side, just borrow a battery from someone with a smiliar phone to test. if it works, then buy a new battery.

The 520 is a great phone.
However I think you'll be happier with a new phone.

Hard to say what happened to it actually.
If it did retain a small amount of water inside I would think that's where the problem is.
