735 compare to the 635 and 52* series!

Just wanted to know if anyone has upgraded from either of these Lumia phones to the 735! I like to know how the screen is, speed and how it feels in the hand and in the pocket compared to the other two Lumias!

well i own a 730 it feels great ,but i am unhappy with the quality of the sound its mediocore,to be more precise headphone jack doesn`t make a complete fit into the socket its pretty lose comes off easily ,the music is not HD it doesn`t give a feeling .. other wise the phone is great ..in every aspects ,Lumia 730 has faced an issue regarding working of dual sims but you are going for 735 than go for it no issues ....

Thanks for the review! Have you try to get a replacement for the headphone input problem. It sound like it a deflective 730 you have!
How is the speed with browser since it has 1GB RAM instead of the 512MB and it clocked with a quad instead of a dual? I still using a 521 so I expect it to be much faster with both RAM and doubling of clock too!

Browser and general functions are much much faster than L521. Apps load much faster than 521. Pictures are much better than 521 but not nearly as good as Icon. Lumia Camera loads much faster than Nokia Camera on Icon. No dedicated camera button kind of sucks, but is barely acceptable when combined with faster camera app load time. Living Pictures feature sounds neat and is neat when viewed on the phone, but somehow it always seems to choose the worst frame to post on FB and Twitter. Not sure if it is supposed to be 'Live' on other platforms besides the phone; if so, I seem to be doing something wrong.

Overall assessment for me is that this is a great upgrade from the L521 and worth the $300.

Also, I'm visiting Seattle right now and have seen the L735 RTM-1039 smoothly cascade from LTE to H+, H, and E as T-Mobile's carrier strength varied without loss of connectivity.

I switched from 920 to 735. I'm liking 735 way more.
It is a class above 6xx and 5xx series so no point in even comparing with them. It even beats or equals the 830 in every department, except the primary camera and speaker quality.
But since you specifically asked, it is faster than 6xx/5xx. It is of course bigger but fits perfectly in both hand and pocket.

The AMOLED screen has amazing contrast. 920 had ClearBlack too but 735 is darker and brighter. It is definitely better than 830 too. 735 is lighter and sleeker than 830 and fits just perfectly in one hand. The 5MP wide-view selfie cam is great for Skype calls. Battery life is good too. I'm easily getting more than a day with decent daily usage. I was getting less than 24 hours for same usage on 920.

I got the orange model and it's a looker. I think this is the best looking and ergonomically sound Lumia.
Performance is good. Only worse than 930 or 1520. And I'm getting LTE on AT&T.

This phone has great potential and I'm so disappointed with MS and US carriers for ignoring this gem.

735 is lighter (by 16 g) than the 830 (830 has much more aluminum is why and, of course, the larger screen), however the 830 is slimmer (sleeker)

The 830 has twice (16 g vs 8 g) of internal storage than the 735, and the 830 has OIS which the 735 does not.
I'm not dissing the 735, as I even had one for a short period of time, just making sure we have all the facts correct.

Spec wise you are correct, 830 is thinner. But 735's tapered edges give it a sleeker feel IMO.

And internal memory isn't really a concern because you can pop in an SD card up to 128GB.

I did mention above that 830 wins in primary camera.

And 830 goes for around 1.5x the price of 735, in US at least.

I'm only getting HSPA+ on AT&T though, but it is decent enough that I'm not missing LTE.

I really appreciate this write up. I toyed with the idea of getting a 735, but I don't think I can give up my PureView camera heh.
I don't have the funds onhand anyway, but I like entertaining the thought.

Actually, here in the US, the price difference is less now.
The best price I've seen for the 735 is $300.00 from B&H and I'm seeing the 830 around $370.00 now.
Again, not d'ssing the 735, it's a great phone, just saying that the 830 has more features and a more premium build quality.
If the screen were a little larger on the 735, I may have kept mine.
Spec wise (4.7 vs 5.0) it doesn't look too much smaller, however, for me, in real use it was because the nav. buttons are part of the screen and on the 830 they are not. Granted the nav buttons can be slide out of the way, but when typing they do take up sceen space which they do not on the 830. That was rather important to me.

Don't change your phone cause this comes with the non_so_great camera(Carl Zeiss lens at f1.9 but non pureview). Indoor pics are somewhat noisy, and flash not as bright as a Samsung s3. Just my 2c

I'm not because of inertia and satisfaction with my current.
I just like trying out different things, the 73x's look to be quite nice in their own way.

Ohh that's nice that 830's price came down to a reasonable level.
I agree that nav buttons are a big plus in 830.
