Whilst upgrading to the 950xl build 14267 my phone has been stuck on migrating data screen for 3 hours now and th eblue line has not moved......

Ive tried hard resetting but it wont work and just reboots the phonr to the migrating data screen,

any deas ????

Mine also seemed stuck (at 6/10 0%) but since I was busy with The Division I just left it. When I came back to it it had restarted and restored all my data.

think mine is stuck for good, now moved onto MS device recovery tool which seems to be doing its job

I think I jumped on this update too soon. Migration took 3hrs to complete. It takes a long to see my 2 APs, and network seem to be screwed. I can't update anything without the app freezing. Also the back button on the nav bar no longer works.

This happened to me too. I simply turned the phone off, and then back on and it continued and finally finished.

Same here, Stephen. Waited for 1.5 hours and after seeing that there was absolutely no activity (Device Portal) I grcefully rebooted it from there. Then continued and finished, all seems good.

I had the same issue, tried restarting couple of times and it did not work. I then removed the battery as well as the SD card and while restarting again I didn't insert the SD card and it worked.

ok so im trying again and got stuck at the same point, so il try this and see.

cheers

Had a hell of a time with this update. I did a hard reset and the device and build is actually really smooth and no issues so far. It's a pain in the arse but it happens sometimes.

After 24hrs of standby e home screen would not load. Now I'm stuck in glance. A batt pull resolves it but locks on glance again after an hour. It looks like migrating data isn't intended on this build.

Interesting.

My wife's 950 had this happen pretty much right out the gate. It would lock up on the glance screen after being left alone for just a few minutes. After rebooting (power+vol dn) it was fine again (although showing new notifications as just "a new notification") until it again was left idle dor a few minutes. In the end I restored it to factory using the recovery tool and put her in the production preview ring. She swears her phone now feels faster and works better than it ever has before (even though she ran 107 before the botched RS-branch build).

So.. My 950XL seemed to update just fine. Sure, it hung on migrating data for a few hours, but it worked great once updated. ... Well, for a few days at least. Just an hour or so ago my phone has started showing the exact same issues as described above. Trying to figure it out now, but I fear I'll have to roll mind back to factory also and probably skip RedStone on this device for now.

Sucks, as I really found this build to be rather useful (what with emoji's in skype, cortana noticing promises I made in emails and offering to set reminders for me automatically etc).

@emigrating, I needed a daily driver so I couldn't chance on it locking up again. Maybe it was also a 3rd party app that auto installed that caused issues also. Anyway after a reset and manualy set up configs and apps it's actually smooth for the most part. The only issue I have is with some apps, text input would automatically close the keyboard.

After rebooting during a long delay (45 min stuck on 1 of 6 migrating data where there was no progress or any response) , it then completed in 10 minutes.

If my primary SIM is in (which has data settings) it doesn't let either sim send or receive texts. I can't open SIM and Mobile panel, it just crashes back to the desktop.

It also has random lockups (may be glance screen related).

What I have found after HOURS of flashing, re-flashing, updating, factory resets and thor2.exe usage is that 14267 doesn't play well with dual sim devices.

Like I posted above, my wife's 950 went fubar directly after the update. I used WDRT and took it back to 107, where he says it's better than ever. My XL on the other hand worked fine for a few days running RS, then went bonkers. It would hang on the glance screen, lag out for several seconds while using the phone, apps would close for no apparent reason etc. After I did a factory reset (on 14267) it got even worse and the phone would hang for minutes during boot-up, then again when selecting with sim to use for data, wouldn't show any wifi networks as available etc.

I spent most of last night and this morning trying different ways to get it back to working order on 14267 and just as I was about to give up I pulled the second SIM card and voila, phone is now working great again. The weird thing is, this device did run 14267 great for a few days before showing any signs of failure... According to Gabe this isn't a known issue, but most of their testing has apparently been done on single SIM devices (either physically or dualsim with only on card).

Still went back to 107 though as I rely on both SIMs being active :(

well just did this latest update and took my sim & memory card out first and mt 950xl updated without a problem

The migration part of this updates seems took almost an hour on my phone it looked like it had stalled a few times but just left alone and it finally finished
