Are you able to manipulate the Surface Pro 3's screen?

Hey guys,

I'm in a bit of a pickle as i have a PS3, an HDMI cable, a Surface Pro 3, and the HDMI>Surface adapter.. oh and as well as the PS3 power cable. Is there a way I can use my Surface screen to display the PS3?

Thanks!

Sadly, nope. The HDMI is only for sending data, not receiving. I don't think they've made a socket that of both, yet.

You should technically be able to do this by turning on the SP3, then once it's finished starting up, connect the PS3 and SP3 using the HDMI cable. Of course, you should turn on the PS3 as well.

I don't know if the SP3 supports HDMI-in, though. Let me check.

(EDIT: HDMI-out only. Well, good luck in your endeavors.)

You should be able to buy a USB device for video capture that this should work with. I used to have one that supported s-video in from dazzle a number of years back. Not sure what is available today.
