backed up my sd card from cpap machine onto windows 8.1

need my backup for insurance purposes---and I now know to lock sd card---but I need backup to be read by my cpap machine---thanks

cpap didn't recognize sd card after windows -----is there something I can do so windows won't corrupt the card
