Send us ssnapshot after phone battery is left with like 10% so we can see the time it shows for since last charge, the estimated battery time remaining will vary on what you did with phone for that day

Will do so far this is where I'm at best battery life I've experienced on this phone so far since I got it 12 hours was the max I ever got. Looks like I will pass it. This is light usage with a few 20 minute phone calls

Something weird just happened I had a phone call about 15 mins I posted one photo to instagram using 6tag during the call and was at 42% I noticed my phone warming up so I soft reset it, apparently that reset the battery monitor which said I took it off the charger less than a hour ago. It also notified me my Microsoft acct needed my attention and I had to reenter my password so it can sync my email so either 6tag and/or y email trying to sync could have caused the heating uppp and 10% plus drop in battery

And once it powered back on from that soft reset the battery dropped from 42% to 28% then 5 mins later dropped to 21% and it's more in battery saver mode 19%

I have insider installed to monitor the battery as a back up which came in handy for this case ...i will let this battery drain completey then fully charge it and see how it goes from there

Heres what insider is showing for those interested

What are you settings to get 18 hours battery life on 1020

Wifi always on
All data on,lte/4g/3g/E
Bluetooth always off
NFC, sharing, location, wifi sense, off
Glance(peak), double tap, application id sharing on
Touch normal
Brightness medium
No battery monitoring apps, only battery saver
All apps allowed to run in background except IE
Syncing 4 email accounts hourly

My battery still varies, it can go from 30 hours more often than I get 20 (id say 20% of the time). But its a major improvement from 8.0, the random drains are gone. Worst battery offenders 8.1+update1 are IE and facebook (which is weird as I don't check it very often, maybe twice a day for 5 mins), but its running in background I could turn off but I'm trying to test the battery potential.

My new 1520 was doing great with the 8.1 update. Then yesterday I started gettin fast drains. I can't explain it.

Question. Does Insider "really"kill your battery? Even if an app say WhatsApp it Waze isn't running in the background, can it still drain battery 🔋 if location services is on?

Also... Help me understand. Does data connection on really drain the battery?

If you're moving a lot in areas with lack of cells or you find your connection data sessions bouncing (jumping between 3g/lte) frequently yes this will cause your wireless connection processors to work more often in turn using your battery.

A clean install, from scratch without restoring from a backup, will ensure no known potential issues currently happening on your existing system causing you to perform the reset and cleaning that stupid Other storage. Reinstall your apps manually, use only the ones you want, ensure what is running in the background is relevant to your need for it.

I have pretty much the same settings as you besides I have Battery Sense installed too.
maybe I should try uninstalling that but I like to know my battery drainage percentage per hour..
these few days I've got down to -50%/hour though after listening to music and used some social apps. I never gotten that low before. ~_~
hope lumia black and fix the battery drainage. I feel its the screen that uses a lot of battery.
I do use a light theme though. could also be why it drains even more.

I used to like knowing those details as well about the battery... but I gave up caring and now just use the OS battery saver, less analyzing and enjoying the phone

I'm considering a hard reset as battery life lately has been bad. Would u advise? Most thoughts on this seems to suggest it works well.

Hard reset has helped my battery for the most part it's still the first couple days after the hard reset tho hadn't really stabilized yet but so far so good I'd recommend it

Lumia 1020. I did a hard reset last week. (lost WhatsApp in the process, if you use whatsapp a lot then beware XD)

I got -50% after I did the hard reset.... my at most was -40 sth and that is when I am gaming or when my phone heats up. but this time when it showed -50% it wasn't even heating up at all.. so I don't know what happened.
I'll uninstall Battery Sense and just stick with Battery Saver and see if it helps!

I have tried a hard reset on my Lumia 925 it didn't do anything so I am guessing it's a matter of pure luck 🍀

Or its possible you use heavier battery consuming apps, or you use your phone more frequently? I've noticed on these boards 925 seems to be having the most negative feedback of the 8.1 updated devices. I wouldn't say its luck if majority of users see the benefit, but theres a big possibility its related to the model. All speculation ofcourse.

If you are willing to after above doesnt work, RESET with a clean slate (no restore) and do not install any battery monitoring from the get go.
