Cortana went dumb

Every time I do a search with Cortana it just redirects to the bing webpage in edge W10M it's really frustrating because it seems that they keep downgrading Cortana. I don't know whether it's on their end it it's me but whatever it is if anyone has any info on it please help. Thank you

I had this too - it turns out in my case the issue was because an update ran which updated my audio drivers. I went to Device Manager and rolled back the drivers to the previous version, then Cortana worked again.
