Re: Developer Preview Program - What Exactly Is It?

This may have been asked before, but I don't want to skim over 6 pages of forums. Does the dev preview app update to 8.1 not let you update to the next "Lumia" update? Is it only restricted to the windows updates? Also, any of the Nokia Apps (Nokia Camera, Pamo, etc) be effected in anyway?

no ! You'll keep the past firmware and softwares. You'll get the later nokia updates too ! It wont affect nokia stuff in any way.

Re: Developer Preview Program - What Exactly Is It?

I have 3 lumias and have installed preview for devs in it. So is there any limit for devs preview that with 1 dev acc I can only get preview on 1 phone?
can I update all my lumias with one dev acc?

No, have as many phones with Dev Preview as you like :)

Also, with any rom on WP8 devices, they're all for the same phones, so no changes with radios will happen cross-rom. May be a good or bad thing.

not exactly, the ATT roms for the 920 were known to lock out some frequencies on Rogers and Build phones.

Quick question, do you have to be on Wifi to download the update? The reason I'm asking is that I'll be visiting my in laws at the time when this update will come out and those cave people don't have Internet. Will I be able to download the update OTA or do I have to find a Starbucks or something nearby?

Yes, you will have to find a wifi source. The update will be far too large to download over cellular.

Re: Developer Preview Program - What Exactly Is It?

1) Can I reinstall the preview incase of bugs .. I mean like flashing the phone or something like that ...
2) Also ,once nokia releases nokia cyan will I get the entire update or the portions that nokia has updated ??? Because incase of any bugs that nokia will fix , will my phone get those bugs fixed in the official release or will those bugs remain ???

Re: Developer Preview Program - What Exactly Is It?

Can somebody give me an exact and clear answer: everywhere I read, that after I get the Dev preview, there is no way back, but I have to ask myself (logicaly), is that truth?

So my question is: Is that really so, that I won?t be able to flash my phone back to the GDR3+black, after I install the WP8.1 Dev. preview? If so, why?
