Discussion on tutorial for force-updating to 8107

So what do I do now? I tried again following the tutorial instructions and get an error ?Update device a8e8846d ? 53df258d ? a223369c ? 770f41c3 Complete with error code : 8018004D error message: IU (Image Update) installation failed on phone: No applicable packages.?

It went through a process of downloading, checking etc. . . but then the error in the end.

Any suggestions/help would be greatly welcomed.

Others have successfully updated their phones a couple different ways, I used the WP7 Update Cab Sender and got an error at first that was resolved by installing Microsoft's WPSupportToolv2.

Hello, I have been trying to upgrade from 7.10.7740.16 to 8107 (I am probably the last one in the world trying to do so) but get the error message:

ERROR: E_INVALID_SIGNATURE: Signature validation failed for following Delete Package.
Package: \OSRoot\Application Data\Microsoft\DeviceUpdate\Packages\AB745820-8C5C-4386-B5F5-3C11ED1E0C83.1.pks\helphowto.cab.pkr FROM Version: 0.0.0.0 TO Version: 0.0.0.0 GUID = {6A540B21-B5C0-4D24-8903-B5B5EB97DF58}


ERROR: UpdateOrderFromFileList: MAIN OS Update: MAIN OS Update Failed with HRESULT : 0x80180008

I had the same error with Zune but could not find out what the cause is, so I tried cab sender and got the same message.

I have a Samsung Omnia 7 and I have tried Windows xp, Vista and 7 Ultimate.

Okay, after a long day and lots of research i have fixed the driver issue. all you have to do, ifyou are getting the driver error is go to the htc support site and download and install the rom update for the htc titan, here is the link.

the download link is at the bottom of the page.
this will also fix the issue if you unlock the htc titan and it keeps relocking after you restart the phone. hope this helps somebody out there.
