Distorted SMS Alert Sound

On occasion with my 830, my SMS alert sound, sounds distorted. Usually happens on the first text if I haven't received one in a while After the first one, it seems to be fine. Not using a custom sound, using alert 6 built into the phone. It's very random.

Anybody else have this issue?

Soft Reset could work. Maybe a hard reset? or changing to a different one and changing back?

When I first got my 830, the speakers would occasionally sound distorted. This affected everything including alerts and music. After a period of "warm-up" the distortion would disappear.

Is there a long strip of plastic under your back cover? The sales rep put my battery in for me and left that plastic strip lying over the speaker area. Eventually, I suspected that was the cause so I tucked it under the battery. My speaker sounds fine now (touch wood).

sure its not a speaker problem that is showing wear and tear?

Wear and tear? The phone is 4 weeks old.

No, we took the plastic strip off at the store. It's purpose was to help you get the back cover off initially to install the battery.
